Excellent chronological Bible. I have purhased 12 copies and have given them away to relatives and my Bible Study Group. Our church is doing the study with sermons to co-inside. Easy way to read the whole Bible in a short time.

The Story is an excellent piece of literature as is all of Max Lucado's books. God had been working with me to read the Bible as separate books not to become so overwhelmed by the daunting task of reading the Bible but to concentrate on smaller pieces of the larger Book. When I saw the ad for The Story, who the author was and the low price, I purchased it. The formatting of The Story fit the bill, I even find myself wanting to learn more scriptures because the task at hand is less daunting and more enjoyable. I have and will continue to recommend The Story to friends.

NIV 2011 James 1:7-8 "That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." I think it is unnecessary to have to resort to bad grammar. Dealing with the word "man" as mankind and explanation of when the passage means "men/brothers" or "brothers and sisters" etc. in the Preface would be sufficient.

This review was written for The Story, NIV, Large Print Hardcover.
An excellent way to get the main points of the Bible in a much shorter time. Especially good as a means to get through the Old Testament; especially when many who start reading the Bible stop at Leviticus. [I had an old Bible rebound once and had them put the New Testament first]. As my mission effort I have thus far given away about 120 standard size print copies of " The Story"s. In the last 2 years. The large print issues do not seem to have a much larger print than the standard. I wish there was more from the Epistles in The Story. Also wish they would publish just a New Testament of The Story. It could have a prelude on the Old Testament in italics. [I know about "The Story of Jesus"].

I wish I had found this Bible a long time ago. It's so easy to read. I find myself reading for longer periods of time because the story flows like .... a story. The selected Scripture readings make up the greater part of the Bible/book, but the brief summaries that fill in "in-between" make it a smooth flowing chronological story. Reading this Bible is a great way to get the BIG PICTURE in a condensed book.

My only complaint about this Bible is the quality of the paper they've used. It's not like typical Bible paper; it's something cheaper looking yet functional. I assume it was used to cut down on the cost. It's a lightweight book. The imitation leather cover looks nice. I would recommend this book despite it's quality. I very much enjoy reading The Story Bible.
