I received this book as a gift awhile back and decided to read it during some down time recently. I can't say that it's on my "best book" list, unfortunately. I felt as though there was a lot of potential in the initial plot, but the book doesn't take advantage of the setup. The writing seems to lack the nuance it needs to tell the story in a realistic fashion, and I didn't ever connect with the characters. However, I think if the writers continue honing their skill they will be able to give the characters and plot in their next book more depth and realism.
