DyscypleSaint Albans, WVAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Seems I bought the wrong "Ruth"June 1, 2016DyscypleSaint Albans, WVAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I do not know where to begin. I will just reiterate what so many others have said--maybe it will finally sink in and people will actually stop buying this terrible movie.
This movie, "The Book of Ruth" contains/is:
-Terribly biblically inaccurate (this is the most important thing when choosing a "Bible" movie!)
-Way too much creative/literary license. The REAL story of Ruth and Boaz is so incredibly beautiful, it needs no dramatic or ridiculous additions. Leave it be, leave it biblical!
I would never recommend this movie to anyone. Instead, read the Bible!
RJ5 Stars Out Of 5DVD The Book Of RuthApril 24, 2016RJQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This was the best movie ever! The music was so beautiful that I recorded it and the movie reminded me that God has a plan to bless us with a hope and a future. it also inspired me that God is a God of second chances. the performances of the characters were real and believable.
Jeanne1 Stars Out Of 5Not worth itApril 18, 2016JeanneQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1This movie was very disappointing. The acting is awful, the script was poor, the tempo was slow, and it was a waste of time. There are too many good films to waste time on this one. Don't understand how it has nearly 4 stars. It should have only 1.
csvd1 Stars Out Of 5"Ruth" movieSeptember 18, 2015csvdQuality: 2Value: 4Meets Expectations: 1The acting was terrible and cheesy - Carman is good looking but should stick to singing!
Make-up on the women was obvious and over all, this was just very disappointing.
psbrownSacramentoAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Biblically inaccurate, bad acting, cheap setAugust 6, 2015psbrownSacramentoAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I was terribly disappointed with this production. The story line is so off from the true Bible story that even if it was well done otherwise, it would be a terrible value. I'm really disappointed in Carmen. The woman who was cast as Ruth was about 45 years old or more, maybe even in her 50's. So ridiculous!!! She should be no older than 30, but probably most accurately in her 20s. She was supposed to be an attractive young woman, not a wrinkled old lady. The set was horrible, like a stage with cheap props. The acting was terrible. The storyline, with all of the added drama and stupid, unbelievable lines was unforgivable.
