This is a great romantic mystery and suspense novel! I really enjoyed the characters, the setting and the story. I loved this book right from the beginning page. It was hard to put down.

The characters are real: Sweet Baileywhat a dear, broken woman. I just wanted to give her a hug. Colea hero on all levels. The McKenna familya strongly knit unit, but always welcoming to those outside of their circle. The town of Yancey, Alaskapeopled with quirky and interesting characters.

Though Submerged is a contemporary Christian novel, the Russian history is fascinating. I think it adds depth to the mystery. This story not only has heart-stopping suspense and mystery and a complex, romantic thread, but it includes many other layers. The spiritual themes of forgiveness and letting go of guilt are realistically portrayed.

Dont miss this book, if you are a fan of romantic suspense!

I have to confess my love for the cover. The design team really did awesome on this one!

As for the pages within, I felt Ms. Pettrey did a wonderful job with her debut novel, Submerged. This book is right up my alley! It has all the things I love wrapped up inside (romance, suspense, mystery). From page one I was sucked into the adventure of Ms. Pettrey's creation.

The plot was deep and had many twists that kept me guessing! Ms. Pettrey also added an inspiring message of Jesus's love and forgiveness, which I loved. Something else I really loved about this book was the fact that there was a whole past we hadn't read about. A past we know nothing of, yet all the characters do. To me, that added an extra layer of mystery as I was left to piece things together.

The characters were very well presented and rounded. Especially Bailey. What wasn't there to like about her? She's flawed, she loves the Lord, and she has a common struggle I know I have- seeing yourself the way God sees you. That little flaw allowed me to relate to her on a level I don't with some characters.

Speaking of other characters, I really loved the McKenna family. And Landon. :-) Piper caught my heart instantly and Gage and Kayden weren't far behind.

There isn't much I have to say about the setting, except for the fact it really works well with the McKenna's job and the plot.

I received this book from the publisher in return for an honest review of my opinions, which I have done.

You would never guess that this is Dani Pettrey's debut book. Straight from the very first page, you get sucked into the tension of the plot as well as the fantastic McKenna family! Their dialogue with each other was so amusing I couldn't help laughing throughout the book (Piper is so adorable!). The characters are so real with their own individual quirks. This book really inspires and challenges you. It highlights forgiveness, redemption, helping others and how God can change us if we let Him. Can't wait to read about Piper and Landon in the next one!

If you love a good mystery, suspense that makes you hold your breath as you turn the page, and a beautiful love story then this is the book for you! A warning though, your self-control will be severely tested if you try to put this book down before finishing it!

The last thing Bailey Craig wanted to do was to return to Yancey Alaska. In fact for the last few years she has tried her best to forget that town and its people ever existed. But when Bailey's Aunt Agnes dies in a tragic plan accident she finds that God has other plans for her. Like teaching her that sometimes things aren't always the way we remember them, such as Cole McKenna and the events that made her leave Yancey in the first place.

Cole McKenna, head of the McKenna clan, spends his days' working in his families dive shop and helping the local police department recover sunken wreckage. When he and his team are called to help with a rescue of a small plane that has crashed into the ocean, he recognizes that one of the victims is Bailey's beloved Aunt Agnes. He realizes that Bailey will be coming back for the funeral and that means that he will have to guard his heart very closely.

I loved this book. For a debut novel, this one is off the charts. The author weaves a brilliant story of suspense, mystery and romance. Her characters are well developed and unforgettable. The love and closeness the McKenna family share reminds me of Dee Henderson's O'Malley series, which is one of my favorites.

The research that the author did on Alaska, the Russian history of the state, scuba diving and all that it entails, is truly impressive. The writing details in the diving scenes were so well done I could actually imagine being there watching the scenes unfold.

If you are a fan of Irene Hannon or Terri Blackstock or if you just want to try something new, you will definitely enjoy this book. I will be frequently recommending this book.

Okay, this was one good read!

I am not usually prone to read Romantic Suspense but lately I've read a couple of books in that category that I've really enjoyed!

Needless to say, Submerged is one of them!

What a splendid cover! What a well-crafted story with great characters! (Well, minus the evil ones...)

Readers will enjoy diving into this book and exploring the beauty of Alaska. With plenty of details, thrill and suspense, 2 heart-warming love stories and a beautiful spirit in the McKenna household, Dani has penned a story that will stay with you long after you've turned the last page.

Cole and Landon definitely deserve to have their names on a Christian Fiction's Best Heroes list! I can hardly wait for Landon and Piper's story and I'm really hoping that something is cooking for Gage, Kayden and Jake!

My only complaint would be that I've found the beginning to be a bit slow but before I even got halfway through the story I was in knee-deep! Now that's what I call talent.

    Excellent. Simply excellent!
