My whole family is having fun learning the different stories behind the Christmas songs. Christmas is a fun time of year to be learning.

This is a homeschool-style book, written for "late elementary and intermediate" students. It covers 10 carols, each with one page of lyrics, a couple pages of background info in large print, a one-page score for singing/playing, and a puzzle to reinforce what is learned. The content is great, in manageable amounts, and could be enjoyed by all ages, in school or not. However, to be clear, it's not a beautifully bound book like some of Joni Eareckson Tada's books on hymns for all ages, nor is it as broad or in-depth as the Then Sings My Soul series on hymns.

I absolutely love this book!!! I bought it for me, an adult senior citizen, to learn more about the music I love so much!

The pieces are very familiar ones. The stories behind the music are charming and interesting! The arrangements are

fun to play--not too hard. There are little puzzles and such to enforce the material. I only wish there were more books other than this one. It's absolutely worth the money! I'm so glad I took the chance! p.s. book is printed in black and white with very nice paper--it's not a complaint....just wanted to mention there are no color photos.
