Sales Tax FAQs

|

As of September 1, 2022, we collect sales tax for all states and Washington DC except these: AK, DE, MT, NH, OR. We also charge the prevailing local sales tax on orders shipped to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Please consult your local state agency as to what forms are required by your state to be tax exempt. Note: Sales tax is based on the state the order is shipping to.

To submit your forms you may log into your account and click on the "Add Tax Exempt Certificate" link, or email the forms to customer.service@christianbook.com.

Tax exempt status is given to organizations and not to individuals. However, multiple people at the organization can use the same tax exempt forms. Each person would have to submit the form to be added to their account.

Please note: The following states may require the order and/or the payment to be in the name of your organization, not that of an individual at your organization - CT, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NV, NY, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, WY. Please check with your state tax department to determine what's required for your organization to place exempt orders.

If you submit the necessary exempt form(s), with a date listed on or before an order date, upon approval, we can request a tax refund.
