This bible really is a great deal for the price. I am very pleased with the quality of the bonded leather. I can tell that this one will last for years. The NASB is such a great literal translation to keep around, and having a compact version is great for me, I have two kids, and little room to carry a larger bible to church. I keep it in it's little cardboard box that it came in at home (again, kids). Something that often goes unstated is what sort of containter bibles come in. It can be handy to have a cardboard box of decent quality, and not just a thin sleeve. Maybe I'm the only weirdo that keeps the boxes, but I appreciate them to help prevent damage to the bible covers.
Very pleased with the quality of this bible as a portable. The snap cover protects the pages (they are quite thin). The ribbon is good, print is adequate - even for 60-year-old eyes - and notes are good. It IS thick - 1.5" - for its small size.
This compact Bible is well made and the print nice and dark so it is easily readable. The center column references make sense, the alternate readings being numbered and the other citations being lettered to avoid confusion.
This Bible has a lot to offer. It's size makes it lightweight and very portable, yet it's not a Thinline edition, whose pages are often harder to turn. Not only are the cross-references plentiful, but so are the original word meaning notes. Even though on the small side, the font is very readable--due in no small part to the dark print. And it does this without the ink bleeding from one side of a page to the other. Double columns also add to ease of reading. It's red letter, which I like. (Even the red print is nice and bright.)
I would give this Bible five stars if it were in verse rather than paragraph format (something the description doesn't tell you) or was available in the more poetic 1977 text.
