Sherry BrownSeattle, WAAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great knowledge on the subject matterJuly 10, 2013Sherry BrownSeattle, WAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleI was doing a paper for my seminary class on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and this did an excellent job of showing the different viewpoints of the gifts. I highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling with understanding what the gifts are and whether they are relevant now. I was more able to give a balanced view for my paper because of this book!

Tim Morrow5 Stars Out Of 5January 18, 2008Tim MorrowGrudem did a great job, as usual, of taking on a hot topic, and allowing sound and reasonable thought. Though I come from a Pentecostal background, I found the four views and responses as well as Grudem's input valuable as well as applicable in preaching these sometimes tough passages of scripture. A very good book to get "all sides" of the topic.

Hal Perrin5 Stars Out Of 5June 19, 2002Hal PerrinThe authors do an extremely fine job of presenting (and defending) their views. This book is written on a seminary level, but with a little patience and determination, I (being an untrained Christian) was able to glean much from it. The book challenged my preconceptions on the various views. It's an excellent resource.

Anthony Shuler5 Stars Out Of 5May 30, 2009Anthony ShulerA good book but not really for most lay people. The counter-points series was really not managed very well since it is entirely on a scholarly level and lay people are the ones who could most benefit if they would just tone it down. This one was not as bad as some of the others though. If you can read on a scholarly level this book is great.
