Very interesting edition. Was surprised at how many changes were made to the edition that we use today. The New Testament was more in-line with the original vulgate latin language and the Old Testament was more in-line with Koine Greek. The later translators really have changed the meaning beyond the subject matter that we are reading and studying in todays editions. A little hard to read at first, because of the Old English spelling, but a very worthwhile text study material to have on hand. Would recomend this to anybody that thinks the later editions are acurate translations of the oringinal King James Version, that we use today.

As one of the other reviewers stated, I was hoping for a page-for-page facsimile. It's not, but it is a WONDERFUL reprint of the King James in the original language; as the Bible should be.

I bought this 1611 KJV reprint as a gift but the intended recepient already had one so I kept it, mostly BECAUSE it had the Apocrypha. The only regret I have is that I bought the hardback and not one of the leather-bound ones. Even though it is not really a "facsimilie", it's close enough to that for any non-expert.I'm thinking of donating mine to some KJV-only Christian and buying a leather-bound one, as if I needed another Bible!

We bought the 1611 Bible for resource work and comparison with modern translations. It is interesting to read the old English style of writing.
