I have read Buchanan's "Hidden in Plain Sight-The Secret of More." and "Your God is Too Safe" and I just finished reading "The Holy Wild." Every one of his books was excellent. Buchanan's style is penetrating, witty, insightful, and artful. His books make you laugh, make you think, help you understand. For those who are serious about pursuing Christ and authentic Christianity,I have a piece of advice: keep reading your Bible and read Mark Buchanan.

If Mark Buchanan is an author with whom you are not familiar, then I recommend you give some of his books a try. He writes in a style that engages you. Buchanan does not beat you over the head with his knowledge or make you feel incompetent or unworthy. Rather, he aims to teach by using the Scriptures, illustrations and experiences.

In this book the author takes us to one of the most fundamental building blocks we need to have in our relationship with Christ - what is our perception of God. How would we describe Him? Simply filling in the blank at the end of the statement "God is _____." will help us to understand ourselves and our spiritual journey.

The author invites us to explore places we may have never gone before, and once you go there you will learn and grow.
