Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Heaven really is for real!!!April 25, 2014Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The one thing we all hold onto is that when this life is over, it is not the end for those of us that believe that Jesus Christ, is the Son of God. That Heaven is a real place and it will be our eternal home. To say that Colton Burpo had a life altering experience would be an understatement. Colton Burpo, a 4-year-old boy facing a life threatening appendectomy is not expected to live. But with the countless prayers that are happening all around him, Colton makes it. In fact what he tells his parents over the next few months will be mind blowing to even those who are believers. Colton never died. He never lost his heart beat nor did the doctor's ever say he came close to death, so why then is Colton saying he went to Heaven and came back?
The one thing that no one can explain is how it happened but the explanations Colton gives his parents and those willing to listen, is that this is NOT the end. That Heaven does exist and it is real! He explains that he met Jesus and that he was introduced to a sister he had never met. He didn't know her name, because she said she didn't have one. Her parents never named her. When Colton shared this with his parents, they had no explanation since this was something they never shared with Colton or his older sister, Cassie. It was a child they lost while his mother was pregnant.
Now Colton shares with his father that he met his grandfather, Todd's father, who is known simply as "Pops." When Todd shares a photo of "Pops" to Colton, he told him that that is not the man he saw. He said that everyone in heaven is young and no one wears glasses. Todd then shows him a younger photo of his father, and Colton immediately tells Todd, "That's him, that's Pops!" As a pastor of his church, Todd has his own personal struggle with whether or not, what Colton claims happened, actually did. But soon enough he can't explain how Colton knows so much if he really didn't go to Heaven.
I received Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent compliments of Thomas Nelson Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own. This book is a special movie edition, which contains photos from the movie, Heaven is for Real as well as photos of the real Burpo family, as well as interviews with the actors from the movie about how they felt about the story of Colton visiting heaven. This is such an exceptional story that everyone should read regardless of your beliefs, because it's about something extraordinary happening to an ordinary family that forever changed not only them, but those around them in remarkable ways. I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars.
DavidsMomLouisianaAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5You will look differently at life after reading!March 13, 2014DavidsMomLouisianaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I had previously read the Heaven is for Real when it came out. This book is so touching, I believe everyone should read it every couple of years. It brought peace to me having my grandmother and father die recently. To know that they are in such an amazing place with such peace, it is a great thing to read about. I love how Colton then young would talk about something in Heaven and it would stop his parents in their tracks b/c it would really touch them! From the loss to his sister to his grandfather looking young. I now will stop and look at pictures of my relatives in their prime to picture how they would look in heaven. Of course you have to think about what age is my prime - I'll take my late 20's! My original book has been passed around through the family to bring them peace. This is a book that you want to keep a copy of handy to stop and read occasionally at any point to see the awesomeness of heaven! Then to know there is a movie coming out that has to be a must see for the entire family! I loved how the back of this Movie Edition is set up with the interviews of the actors, casting choices, to even a catch up with Colton who is now a teenager! The Q&A with Colton Burpo today was one of the best parts to have this Special Movie Edition. It was nice to read about how he is doing and his thoughts on the movie. It was good to hear he is still a kid with kid priorities, but how he still feels about heaven! I love this description of how you hide when you don't want to leave someone's house or somewhere fun and that is how heaven is! This book is sure to make you look differently at life.

A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back
By Todd Burpo with Lynn Vincent
In this book, you will find the original book of Heaven is for Real along with some added chapters by Todd Burpo. There is a chapter about how the book had affected their lives and how the movie came about. There are chapters with interviews with actors, producer, screenwriter and others connected with the movie. Information and background about the movie is given.
The most important thing, I think, about the book is the original book is included. This book is about Colton Burpo (a four-year-old) and the experience of going to heaven while being operated on for a ruptured appendix. This story sound like it came from the twilight zone, but backed by Biblical facts. Unbelievable, as it may seem, his experience held many truths. Todd Burpo, his father, tells his story from his son's perspective, a four year old. The information Colton gave at to what he seen in heaven is amazing. The facts he finds out about his family in heaven, things he did not know or every heard about, is a miracle. The story is heartwarming and gives us knowledge of heaven that we may not have known. If you know the Bible you will see the connections and know the truth, you will know that there is no way a four year old could make up a story with such detail.
I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers <http://booklookbloggers.com> book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255

When four-year-old Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren't expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the following monthsââ¬âa story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy's trip to heaven and back.
This true story, retold by his father but using Colton's uniquely simple words, offers a glimpse of the world that awaits us, where as Colton says, "Nobody is old and nobody wears glasses."
Heaven is for Real will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance to see, and believe like a child.
Bonus material in this special movie edition includes:
Photos from the movie set
Updates from father, Todd, and son, Colton, on recent events including the making-of-the-movie experience
"From the Set" Q&A's with the movie's filmmakers and actors
This book was so heartwarming for me. I loved every page of this book and couldn't put it down. Maybe it's because I've been to parts of heaven in visions or maybe because it's in the perspective of a four year old. Whatever the cause is, I'm so glad that I've had the privilege of receiving the book from: Booksneeze.
