    As an artist I have to say I am absolutely thrilled with the trend of meditating on Scripture through art. I particularly like the Inspiring Words inspirational coloring book because it allows you to not only express your creativity but also meditate and memorize Scripture.

    There are thirty different verses. Some are well known and some are a bit more obscure, but all of them are worth pondering. The way the book is put together just begs for it to be taken apart. What I mean is that each of the prints are placed on only one side of the page leaving the back side blank. The pages are thick and do well with colored pencils, markers, watercolor, or my favorite, acrylic paint.

    Each page is 8 1/2 x 11 inches so it is easy to frame. I used an 11 x 14 inch frame with an 8 x 10 mat and I love the way it looks. Now that I've tried it I plan on framing several more to place throughout the house. I love finding new ways to place Scripture in plain sight. For me it is an easy way to help me commit it to memory.

    If you have a desire to experience the new Bible Art Journaling trend give this a shot. You don't have to have amazing talent. If you can color in the lines you can do this. It's such a peaceful and relaxing way to spend some quality time meditating on the Word.

    I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

    I hadnt yet really gotten into the coloring books myself, because lets be honest. I just dont have the time on an average day to sit and color! Im sure most moms feel the same way. The tiny designs of most coloring books is almost overwhelming for a non-artsy person like me. But when I saw this coloring book from Zondervan, I knew it was a little different for a couple of reasons:

    One, the designs are not as intricate. They are so pretty but leave more space on the page. Its not overwhelmed with those little black lines! And two, every page has a Scripture verse. As I was coloring in each word, it was so refreshing and meaningful to be taking time for me to relax and color, but while I was, I could really meditate on that verse.

    While I dont know that Ill ever slow down enough to finish a whole page in one sitting, I do love that my daughters enjoy this coloring book so they can also be meditating on Scripture while enjoying their favorite new hobby.

    {I received this book in exchange for an honest review. No guarantees were made and all opinions are my own.}

    I received copy of this book for free from Zondervan, in exchange for an honest review. I do have to say, the first time I saw that adult coloring books were on the market I had mixed feelings. It struck me as exciting and funny. I thought why would we need "adult" coloring books. It isnt that I dont like to color, I LOVE it (only not with markers) and I find it very relaxing. I have always colored with my kids. I just didnt really see the need for an adult book. We don't really have any coloring books any longer here. When the kids want to color, I look for printable pages. We go to different websites and look for their favorite characters, like Stawberry Shortcake or Lego Ninjago. Of course my all time favorite has to be Snoopy, I also love Mickey and the gang, however the possibilities are really endless as to what you can get to color. When I saw this was for review I was excited to see what they hype was.

    For this book, there are 30 bible verses that are decorated with outlines of different shapes and prints that you can color in any way. Printed on thicker paper, it makes the end product nice and can be used with multiple mediums. With the heavy pages I don't recommend tearing them out of the book. They should be cut, I didnt tear a couple of the pages out of the book straight! Sad smile The picture that you color outlines or frames the verses, making a nice piece of art that could be framed! My 10 year old daughter was coloring a page with me. What a great gift it would make especially to someone who may be in need of hearing the particular verse.

    Living in a tech absorbed world this book would make a great gift and a great way to spend some quality time together, with needed a plug!
