We have used these Apologia journals for several subjects, for both of my kids. My son, 13, works in the older version because it includes "What do you remember" questions for each chapter and usually a crossword puzzle of the vocabulary words. The junior version does not include those, so it is easier for my 7 yr old daughter to work through. The jr. journal has some cut and paste activities, while the older version does not. Both have coloring pages and scripture copywork, both in print and cursive. These journals suit all our needs as we can pick and choose which activities to complete for which child. Very nicely laid out and worth the money. It has mini books that you can assemble (in color) which adds some variety to the black and white pages. Throw in some coloring pages and even photographs of your completed projects and you have a very interesting "notebooking style" journal!

We are finding this journal a good tool to keep us on task with reading through the textbook and different assignments. With multiple options, it gives us a variety of ways to apply what is being learned.

Both my 6th grade son and 2nd grade daughter are enjoying their notebooking journals.

I love that the material is all there and I do not have to prepare anything. My children love drawing, cutting and pasting; so this is great for them.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm just starting with Apologia. But what an awesome surprise to see these when I got them. They were bigger, with more "things" inside for the activities and journaling and learning then I ever expected. I really thought they would be much simpler then they ended up being. I would definitely buy them again & recommend buying them if you use any Apologia.

We used these Journals about two years ago, then thinking to save I didn't order them last year. Our children really missed them. These journals offer a lot in the way of review activites. If time is short pick a few and move on. I found my children often enjoy doing the extras on their own. The lessons really stay with them better after working in their journals. I would highly recommend these companion journals for the Apologia Science books. I am not the creative sort, so these are a big help.
