Excellent book for Mommies of all ages!

What a wonderful book by Kathi Lipp! This book is for Mommies of any age - whether you are a first time Mommy or an experienced one! I really think it's for everyone!

This book covers so many important topics from bullying, drugs, to much more...all from a Mom who has been through it. I am so thankful to see a book that helps move away from an expectation of "perfection", to help let go of controlling what we can not control. No one is perfect - Thank the Lord for Hid grace! Such a reminder that God is in control, even though we are not. He's got this, and really we just need to let go and let Him. He will help us through it all.

I love the prayers at the end of each chapter to pray for yourself and your child/children! I highly recommend this book!

I was given this book in exchange for for my honest review by bookfun.org.

I Need Some Help Here by Kathi Lipp is a very informative book. It is one that will stay on my night-stand with other reference books I keep handy. It is down to earth and written with heart. It is prayer based which is important. I have already recommended this book to many of my friends with children approaching their tween years. This book is definitely encouraging when faced with problematic and difficult decisions.

I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

    a must have parenting book

I read this book and before I was even to the third chapter was recommending it to friends. Kathi Lipp has written a book that is helpful and encouraging to parents who are struggling with kids that have seemingly gone wrong. Parenting is hard. It is easy to feel responsible when our kids make decisions that harm them and those they love. In this book, Kathi comes along beside us to remind us that we are not alone. There are others going through similar circumstances and more importantly, God is always with us and He loves our kids more than we do.

One of the statements that made a lasting impression on me was from a mom who felt ostracized from the Christian community when her life went drastically off course and her son started using drugs. We often say, "But for the grace of God, there go I." And while this is certainly often the case, sometimes it is because of the grace of God that we can face difficult situations.

This book handles subjects such as drugs, bad decisions, mental health issues, bullying, and much more. Each chapter deals with a different topic and includes a story "from the trenches" from a mom who's been there. Ther are many scripture references and prayers to encourage and strengthen us.

I believe I will often revisit this book in my parenting journey. That is, if I get it back from friends I loan it to!

I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Network and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion, which I have given.

What a fantastic book! Really should be given to moms when their oldest turns 12! I loved how Kathi not only shared honestly her own stories but also gave stories from the trenches of other moms and how when our babies are born we dont think I hope this baby grows up to be a heroin addict or has a teenage pregnancy. Furthermore, doing all the right things does not guarantee our child will make right choices. It seemed to me that Kathi Lipp covered so many difficult situations moms encounter. What hope and encouragement this book gives moms whose teens might be making bad choices so bad you think you cant talk to your church friends about your child or cry if you do! Really excellent book! I received this book from TBCN in return for my honest opinion.

What a vital resource this is! This was both a hard and easy book for me to read. It was hard because my kids are only 3 and 1, and I am still somewhat in denial that they will ever make big bad mistakes. This book confronts almost every one that they could make...but it was an easy read because it was humorous, well-written, hopeful, helpful, and full of God's grace.

Most "parenting" books I've read have been fairly formulaic: if you want this result, follow these steps. They've been full of good advice which you hope, if you follow just right, your kids will turn out marvelously. This author, though, faces reality head-on - our children are humans who are going to make bad choices and have bad things happen to them. She is full of wisdom on praying through and coping with the results of living in a fallen world with our kids. Every chapter had stories, examples, and practical tips on ways to handle those difficult circumstances, and then, my favorite part, ways to pray Scriptures over your kids and yourself in those situations. Speaking of which, this book was chock-full of Scripture and prayer - not much "self-help" here! Plus the author managed to address real life while maintaining her sense of humor - it's a rare talent to be conversational and entertaining without downplaying the seriousness of the issues.

I don't know if I've ever read another book that so honestly and helpfully addresses real life as a parent. For any mom (which, at some point, is every one of us) who's ever felt like part of the "Bad Mom Club," this is for you! This is a book I intend to keep on my shelf for as long as I have children (which, God willing, will be as long as I live!), and one that I will highly recommend to friends again and again and again.

Thanks to bookfun.org for the opportunity to read and review this book!
