Overall, we have been pleased with Ms. Bauer's logical approach to writing instruction. Our child has transformed from being a reluctant writer into a confident writer. Based on our childs experience, I would recommend the Writing with Ease curricula for students in Grades 5-8. This curriculum can also be utilized with high school students or adults for remedial learning. -

Happy Mom of 22 Stars Out Of 5DisappointedFebruary 17, 2023Happy Mom of 2Quality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 1First of all, the book pictured on CBD website is not the book you will receive. My book looks like the picture, but also says, "Optional/Remedial For Older Students." Ouch. My child is in 4th grade and this book is level 4. The description by CBD says it's, "For grades 4 & 5". Yet, my intelligent 4th grader wants to know why he needs remedial. We did Book 2 skipped a year and I thought we'd try it again. The excerpts from Book 2 were engaging and interesting. I cannot say the same for this book. It starts rather innocuously with The Emperor's New Clothes , but the " A Little History of the World" skyrockets into over a 10 year olds head immediately. The majority of the books are well over 50 years old. I have no problem with that, but the fact that many of them use a more antiquated word order is tough for kids when doing dictation. (I noticed this in Book2 also.) There are better resources out there.
