Interesting readThis historical fiction book takes us back into

the medical system in late 1800s. The story takes place at the

Washington Memorial Hospital. A physician is researching

trying to find a cure for the disease entity of tuberculosis. It

gives us the knowledge behind how early research was

accomplished in this time period where no cure had been

founded. It gave accounts of how people lived after contracting

the disease that was fatal in this time period. You will be taken

back by the lack of medical treatment available in that age

compared to our present medical system. The caregivers in

this storys time period had to overcome the grief when losing a

patient in their research study as well as the grief in the patients

family. It is a gripping story which had its very sad moments

but also a ray of sunshine from the positive experiences of the

    characters.

I felt the story also showed how people jump to conclusion

about other people without any real knowledge of circumstances.

What may seem like a person of privilege acting stand offish

might be due to other situations beyond their control. People are

quick to make assumptions and form opinions but not as quick

to correct their assumptions when they find out why people

    behave as they do.

Her characters were artfully drawn and very dynamic in their

relationship within the story. Her vivid characters are

Surrounded by plenty of mystery, drama, unpredictable plots,

romance and historical facts. The story moves fast and contains

a lot of harsh reality. The story contains a mixture of humor,

personal and family value during that era. With Every Breathe

is a celebration of life and in trusting God to lead our way.

Thank you to book fun.org for this Book. My opinion is my own.

This is such a powerful book! It is packed full of historical detail and lots of medical information which truly enhances the story and never weighs it down. I already knew a little background on tuberculosis, however I now feel that I know so much more!

Kate and Trevor are such interesting characters. They captured my interest from the beginning. Both are extremely competitive and very smart. Kate and Trevor interact with others in very opposite ways. Kate is open and able to read the situation. She can adapt and find a way to connect with the person she is speaking to. Trevor comes off as harsh and uncaring, and often will walk away from a conversation that he is frustrated with.

Although they are different in many ways, Kate and Trevor falling in love really makes sense. I love Kates sensitive heart and understand how her fears feel overwhelming to her at times. We slowly glimpse Trevors past throughout the book, and it is not a happy one. His strange ways make more sense when these truths are revealed.

With Every Breath is a story that is going to stick with me for a very long time. It really made me think about the degree to which I need to be able to put my faith in God. He sees the big picture, when I can only see a portion of it. This is a wonderful book with a beautiful romance, a scary disease, and a mysterious foe who tries to undermine all of Trevors hard work. I highly recommend it.

Kate Norton and Trevor McDonough were school rivals, always completing for the best marks. Kate loses her one chance at a full ride college scholarship to Trevor, and then they go their separate ways.

Eight years later, and now widowed Kate is enlisted by Dr. Trevor Kendall, who is none other than her schoolhood nemesis, to work alongside him in his quest to eradicate Tuberculosis. Kate is surprised to find that working with Trevor is rewarding and meaningful, but will secrets from his past or her fears keep them from finally finding common ground.

Trevor considers it his calling to work to find a cure for Tuberculosis, I admired his passion for what he does, as well as his selflessness and strong principals. He has his secrets, and a wry, matter-o-fact sense of humor. I think in the end he was probably my favorite character, because the more that I understood about him the more everything made sense.

Kate is intelligent and hardworking, with a compassionate heart for others, with a heavy load of responsibility on her shoulders. I liked her spirit and how she isn't afraid to challenge Trevor to look at things differently, and to ask him uncomfortable questions.

I love how Ms. Camden brings tail end of the 19th Century to life, showing the brutal effects of Tuberculosis and the ways that it was treated in the past. Excellently researched, this fantastic book drew me in from the very start. Full of innovation, mystery, secrets, romance and fantastic heroes to cheer for. Highly enjoyable read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

With Every Breath is an excellent book. It contains the right amount of history, information and romance to keep you reading. I enjoyed reading the early history of medicine. The two primary characters, Trevor and Kate, have worked together in the past and are now working together again. There is just the right amount of mystery, romance, arguments and making up to keep the book interesting. I look forward to continue to read this author's work.

I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.
