do it all mamanorthwestAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5works great!June 6, 2012do it all mamanorthwestAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This game is really great, the whole family enjoys it! I use it to supplement our regular geography. For supplementing we pick one continent and then set all the cards of countries on that continent on the table, then one kid picks a card and we study that country for a week.
The Game:
There is a board of the world and a board for each continent-minus Antarctica. There is one card for every country in the world and they have numbers that corelate to a number on the continent board for each country (The board does not have the country names on it, just a number for each country because the kids have to say where the country is at ). Each card has a picture of the country's flag and lists the capital, population, monetary unit, literacy rate, major languages, major religeons, major exports, major imports, and major seacoasts. There are a 6 different ways to play the game depending on level of knowledge, we like the statesman level where a dealer draws a country card then the player has to say where that country is and spins the spinner to get a question about the country. The spinner has an easy and hard level, in the easy level they only have to answer where the country is or what the capital is. In the hard level they can be asked to name anything that is listed on the card (What are the country's exports or what is their monetary unit, etc) If they get the answer correct they place one of their playing pieces on that country and keep the card, if they get it wrong the card goes to the bottom of the pile. Each country is worth a certain number of points and the player with the most points wins.
I am so glad I have found this game!!! -
