I liked the movie very much. Hated the ending..it showed me there had to be another one coming. I also didn't like the fact the second one changed the cast members. Good movie, clean and enjoyable for all ages.
This movie has nice scenery, but doesn't have the best storyline. It is not at all like Jeanette Oke's When Calls the Heart book. It was not as good as Michael Landon Jr.'s first Love Comes Softly series movies (although the later ones weren't as good.) Not very much happened in it. I would have liked to see a lot more about the lives of Wynn and Elizabeth Delaney, as in the original book. This movie mostly focused on Elizabeth's niece.
If you're looking for a screen version of Janette Oke's When Calls the Heart, this isn't it. I was so looking forward to seeing Elizabeth and Wynn's love story played out onscreen. Imagine my disappointment when their part of this plot only took up about 20 minutes total. The rest of the movie was devoted to Elizabeth's niece, also named Elizabeth, and her quest to prove she's capable of living and teaching "out west." After I researched a little, I found out that the Hallmark Channel is starting a new series called When Calls the Heart, so this movie seems like it was made to introduce the series. I was really so disappointed that I didn't enjoy the film as a whole.
