Christina4 Stars Out Of 5RecommendAugust 13, 2015ChristinaQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The "What's in the Bible?" series I found very summative and explanatory to young kids, and us adults as well. I'm not a fan of his view on creation, as it sounds like he's done little to no accurate scientific research or biblical research beyond the first few chapters of Genesis reflecting on the curse of death caused by sin and the redemption and salvation of Jesus. Following main stream media in the views of a "old" earth, go against more then just the interpretation of a "day" in the book of Genesis. I realize he probably wanted to avoid going into this topic more in depth (and probably hasn't researched it anyways), but this may turn people off of this series. However, I find this to be a good opportunity to discuss this topic with my kids, (as this is a highly questioned topic in Christian's circles - its good to prepare your kids with the answers) and I would encourage others not to let that defer you from this series, as the series presents you with a lot of educational information through out the whole of the bible.
C. Lynn5 Stars Out Of 5What's in the Bible #1: In the Beginning DVDApril 27, 2015C. LynnQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This DVD is wonderful! My children ask to watch one of the What's in the Bible DVD's nearly every day. My husband and I also enjoy them and have learned some things about Bible history ourselves! The characters are engaging for little ones! The DVD is broken up into two episodes, with each episode containing several segments. I would recommend this DVD and this series to any family who wants a fun and entertaining way to support Biblical knowledge for their children!
Jh5 Stars Out Of 5Engaging, information, well-designed, entertainingMarch 9, 2015JhQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This series _What's In the Bible? with Buck Denver_ is by far, Phil Vischer's best work to date (and we all know he does fabulous work!) As instructional designers and former teachers, my husband and I are extremely impressed by the instructional design aspect of this series. We have even learned some things because of how well the information is presented! There are a variety of characters and different vignettes so the show goes quickly and keeps the attention of the audience. The characters are endearing and funny but do actually teach important information that even someone in seminary will have to know! My favorite character (as a former history teacher) is the pirate who teaches church history. Sounds crazy but he breaks it down with such great visuals that he cleared up some confusion I always had to look up before I taught because I would transpose dates by accident. The visuals make it so searing to memory that the information has finally stuck in my mind now! The best part of this series is its accuracy and ecumenical nature. It is spot on with traditional, fundamental views of the Bible and Church teachings. I highly recommend it for families who want clean, wholesome yet educational entertainment. This series is also on Right Now Media if you want to try one out first before you buy it. Well-worth the investment! I would go so far to say it can even be used in Children's Church or Sunday School because it is that good!

Ellen5 Stars Out Of 5Great New Series by VeggieTales CreatorSeptember 3, 2014EllenQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Here are my new friends, Clive and Ian, Sunday School Lady, Pirate Pete, and more, about to take me on a tour of the greatest book of all timethe Bible. Phil Vischer, creator of VeggieTales, is behind all these puppets and writes almost all the songs. His new series must have been a labor of love, when I consider what must have gone into it. In two 25-minute episodes, Vischer explains what is a Bible, who wrote the Bible, and many more questions. It also explains what books are in the Bible, what Genesis means, andin a remarkable cartoon sequencecreates one of the best explanations of the fall I have ever seen, to the sound of Chuckwagon the cowboy puppet singing. Little black furry balls with teeth representing sin, stick to people like miserable little backpacks; clever, and also a good analysis of the material. What Vischer does best, I think, is to use humor and color and fun, yet in no way to decrease the seriousness or sometimes difficulty of the story. This is a general introduction to the whole series, plus a basic overview of Genesis and its first eleven chapters. Genesis continues in Volume 2. For all ages. I bought the entire series and plan to review them all.
