    Vanished by Irene Hannon

    5 Stars*****

Irene Hannon once again takes us to the creepy side of life with her spellbinding suspense. Moira Harrison is a top-notch reporter that has gone to great lengths to get her story so when she tells the police that come to the scene of her accident she hit a woman; she knows she has hit a woman.

As Moira is traveling on a country road late at night in the pouring rain, a woman appears out of nowhere and in the process of slamming on her brakes in the rain, the car skids, hits the woman and then slams into a tree. As Moira is sitting there stunned a man opens the passenger door and tells her he is calling 911. Moira then passes out and when she awakes an hour later, there is no one around. She finds her phone and calls 911 and when the police show up they try to convince her she hit a deer. Moira knows better but what can she do?

In the days after the wreck Moira cannot get the terrified woman out of her mind, she knows that she must find out what really happened. Since the police won't help her, Moira decides to visit a Private Investigator. When Moira arrives at Phoenix, Inc. for her appointment with Cal Burke, ex-detective she is not sure what to expect. After telling her story once again, Moira is pleased that Cal seems somewhat receptive to it. And when he talks to his co-workers, Dev a former ATF Agent and Connor a former Secret Service Agent, they all agree the story is strange and may not go anywhere but they want to look further into it.

Moira is quit smitten with Cal Burke, not only is he drop-dead gorgeous, he is a kind and understanding man. Moira knows better than to mix business and pleasure but this one time she might just throw caution to the wind.

After hearing a newscast with a man's voice on it Moira is shocked because she is certain it is the same man from the accident. When she tells Cal about it things really take off from there. Will they find the woman Moira hit or will they find something much, much worse? Will they be able to stop a murderer before he kills again or worse yet before he figures out Moira is having him investigated and he comes after her?

I absolutely love Irene's novels; I cannot wait to grab them up as soon as they come out. She has a way with words that makes you lose yourself in the story and it's as though you feel the same terror the heroine or hero feels. This story will pull you in and you'll not want to put it down. Thanks Irene for another satisfying suspense that had me sitting on the edge of my sit until the very end.

Thanks to NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this in exchange for my honest opinion.

Fantastic suspense, drama and romance are packed into Vanished by Irene Hannon. The attention to detail and research for Vanished makes this one a winner. The hero, Cal was tough and still tender, the perfect combination. I felt pity for Dr. Blaine, but at the same time mad as his storyline was developed. Moira was a honest and very likable heroine from the start of the book. She knew what she saw and did not give in until the truth came out. Vanished is a keeper. Thanks for the enjoyable read Irene. Excellent book that I give 5 out of 5 stars.

I received this book from Net Galley and Baker Publishing for my honest review.

Picture yourself driving down a dark windy road during a torrential rainstorm. Just as you lose control of your vehicle a terrified face appears in your windshield. You hear a thunk as your car keeps going. When your car finally comes to a stop against a tree you are surprised as a man approaches, promising to call 911 and look for the woman you hit. Before you know it, you pass out. When you awaken it's to silence. No police, no ambulance, rescuer, and strangest of all --no victim. When you report what happened to the police they are dubious at best, and after a cursory look, they decide there is nothing to pursue.

This is reality for Moria Harrison who isn't sure where to turn, but knows she can't give up looking. Her investigative journalist instincts tell her that she wasn't wrong, there was definitely a victim. Unable to pursue the case on her own, Moriah hires Pheonix Private Investigators, and specifically Cal Burke. Because he really believes her, Cal is willing to take the case even though Moriah has no way to pay the fees.

And I am not going to give away any more details, because I really want you to read this book.

It's no surprise that Irene Hannon has written another 5 star page-turner. Every book Irene has written has been top quality, and Vanished is no exception. While the suspense in this and each of her novels is riveting, it is the characters that always draw me to Irene's books. It is easy to feel like these are people you know and care about going through life-altering and incredibly scary events. The only drawback to reading vanished was that it ended. I wanted to keep getting to know the characters and to be a part of their lives for much longer. Knowing Irene Hannon's penchant for series books I am hoping we will be able to do just that.

This book was provided to me by the publisher. Any and all opinions rendered are my own.

I was excited to receive it and once I started reading it was hard to put down to go back to real life. Her books are a true escape. They are written expertly with a plot that draws you in and words chosen well so you can see the action. You feel you are right there in the middle of everything.

I've read her Heroes of Quantico series as well as the Guardian's of Justice series and I loved them as well. This one certainly measures up to the others. The stories in the earlier series' revolved around those in law enforcement and this time she moves over to Private Investigators. They are all ex law enforcement of some kind and aren't the stereotypes often seen on TV in this job. They are professionals who do are good at their jobs.

This author has a formula she follows loosely for her stories, but they are all so different otherwise it doesn't stand out like it might with a lesser writer. I would highly recommend this book who likes a good suspense story.

I received this ebook from Revell Books for an honest review. My opinion is my own. Thank you Revell Books.
