NoreenColoradoAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5HiddenOctober 21, 2013NoreenColoradoAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5For any of you who love suspense stories or are familiar with Dee Henderson's early books, you will absolutely love her latest book, Unspoken. This story took me back to her early writing and I found myself unable to put this book down; in fact, I read it in about a day. I can only hope that Dee writes some follow up books to continue on with this story line. I would rate it 5 stars; she has done a wonderful job keeping us guessing at which way the story line will go. Intriguing with a touch of romance thrown in for good measure. Bethany House provided this book for my honest review; I was not compensated in any way. I am grateful for this program and always look forward to reading new books when they arrive.

Gringa93Minneapolis, MN5 Stars Out Of 5Intricate story with compelling charactersOctober 8, 2013Gringa93Minneapolis, MNQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Bryce Bishop, owner of Bishop Chicago an old coin dealership, is bored with his life. Little does he know that his life is about to become very complicated and busy. Enter Charlotte Graham, who gets a nod of approval from Paul Falcon, Chicago's director of the FBI. Charlotte sets up a new store filled with old coins and tells Bishop that he has a week to decide if he wants to buy all the coins or she opens her store and puts Bryce out of business. Having no other choice, Bishop buys all the coins and begins to understand that there are alot more coins to buy and sell at a profit for his business.
As Bryce and Charlotte build their business relationship, their friendship begins as well. Bryce learns that Charlotte was a part of Chicago's most famous kidnapping case. Charlotte has built a new life for herself, things from her past still need to be dealt with, but she remains mute on the subject. Find out how an unsolved murder case will bring full closure to Charlotte's kidnapping case.
This complex and compelling story captured my attention from the very first page. I love how Henderson weaves together her characters. It is like meeting up with old friends. Charlotte's struggle with God is heart wrenchingly honest. The reader can empathize with her and thus the characters become three dimensional and take on a life of their own. These are real life struggles that do not have easy answers. I love that the readers feel these struggles and hurt right along side all of her characters. To me this is life, it isn't easy and sometimes gets messy and complicated. This book is a book that needs to be read multiple times in order to understand the rich story line each time it is read.
My thanks to Bethany House publishers and Netgalley for the free e-copy to read and review. -
SuzieNashville, TNAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Dee Henderson is Back!!September 22, 2013SuzieNashville, TNAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5When I read Dee Henderson's O'Malley Series several years ago, I was immediately engaged with the family and the characters in the book. When I learned there was a new Dee Henderson book arriving this October and I had the opportunity to get a sneak peak and review it, I jumped at the chance. "Unspoken" can be read as a follow-up novel to "Full Disclosure" but I had not read that when I picked up "Unspoken" and did not ever feel like I was missing anything (although I did want to learn more about Ann and Paul).
Bryce Bishop sells coins. He is bored with his life until a mysterious woman, Charlotte Graham shows up at his shop with a cache of coins she would like him to buy. Charlotte Graham was the victim of one of the most famous kidnapping cases in Chicago history. She was abducted when she was 16 and found four years later. This woman fascinates Bryce even before he learns of her tragic past. Charlotte has some hard decisions to make about her future. Does Bryce have the patience to dig through the layers of hurt in Charlotte's past. Will Charlotte ever be completely free from the past that haunts her?
Henderson's story telling is as sharp and engaging as it was in the popular "O'Malley Series". I was drawn into the story within the first chapter, wanting to find out the truth behind the mysteries. Where did Charlotte get the coins? How do all of the stories fit together? All of the characters are likeable and people I would love to add to my circle of friends.
This book gets five out of five stars

gjo50TexasAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Typical Dee Henderson - Steady Romantic SuspenseFebruary 4, 2014gjo50TexasAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Dee Henderson books have strong characters that do not rush willy-nilly into romance. The characters are old enough to consider all the ramifications of romance, while dealing with a suspense filled problem. I really enjoy Henderson's work, but do not expect high-tension suspense. While the suspense is there, it is more the unraveling of a thread, than a serial killer is. The characters show great depth leading to a beautiful romance built on strength, not just flash. The strong Christian theme adds greatly to the story. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy a deeper romantic story with a little suspense woven through.
