HomeSchool Mom of 4The Hot Dry DesertAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Inspiring, Encouraging Book!September 1, 2014HomeSchool Mom of 4The Hot Dry DesertAge: 25-34Gender: femaleThis review was written for Uncommon Marriage: Learning About Lasting Love and Overcoming Life's Obstacles Together.I really got so much out of this book! The theme seemed to be on the importance the small, but seemingly insignificant moments and decisions we make--that these decisions are actually the ones that define you, and define your marriage. The Dungys' story interested me and really caught my interest from the first chapter. The way they used the story of their meeting, their courtship, and their marriage to teach was great! They wove that together well so that it didn't sound too "preachy" but had just the right mix of encouragement, inspiration, and challenge. I think everyone should read this book and I'm fairly certain something in their story will connect with something in yours. It would also be a really great book (along with the study guide) to use for a marriage bible study class. Definitely recommend!

I have been a huge Tony Dungy fan back to his days coaching days & have every adult book that he has put out (I will be picking up the children's books for my kids soon). It was great to have him joined by his wife Lauren for this book & get both of their takes on things that have gone on during their life journey together. This is a great read for both married & single people that are football fans or not. It was neat to see how they handled things as a team instead & how God guided them to where they are today.

Adie5 Stars Out Of 5Uncommon Marriage: What we've learned about lasting love and overcoming life's obstacles togetherFebruary 9, 2019AdieA beautiful love story. Honest and true -- even through unimaginable tragedy the Dungy's remain rooted and grounded in their faith and in their love. There's no other way to explain their endurance and perseverance. They survived and continue to press on. My husband and I were challenged, strengthened and encouraged by the Dungy's incredible account to continue to build our marriage on a solid, firm foundation. We heartily recommended this book and have bought several copies to give away.

reliWIAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5ExcellentJune 26, 2014reliWIAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Uncommon Marriage: Learning About Lasting Love and Overcoming Life's Obstacles Together. This book was not what I expected. I was expecting more of a principles and applications book with maybe a few stories thrown in for examples. Instead, it was the journey of Tony and Lauren from the day they met until the present. I really enjoyed reading the book. Being an NFL coach put demands on both Tony and Lauren that are different from what most marriages have, but watching how they continued to put God and each other and family first is impressive. Their marriage stood strong and survived the pressure of being public figures. The emphasis they put on taking regular time for each other--for just the two of them is important along with the importance of good communication. I also was impressed with the emphasis on being grateful even when you don't feel like. I needed that encouragement. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
