I read the book early in the summer and at first was not too excited when my Sunday school leader decided to do this study mostly because I am the only single person in the class, however, I found the study to be a great accompaniment to the book. The Bible study really expanded on the authors book and had great discussion questions at the end of each chapter that really got my class talking. It was very refreshing to hear my classmates opinions about the topics explained in the study guide. I really loved how the author presented Scripture in each chapter and how he explained how core truths applied to marriage. Though I dont ever plan to marry, I found this study to be enlightening. This study also made me realize how important marriage is to God and how He desires married couples to put Him first in their marriages and how that act will make the marriage stronger. I think this is a great study for a class of newlyweds, those struggling with their marriages, and engaged couples.
Jessica BatesAge: 25-34Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5More of a study of their book in my opinionAugust 18, 2014Jessica BatesAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2The Dungys have written a Bible study to be a companion to their book, Uncommon Marriage. I'm neutral about the study, but I do have pros and cons. I didn't like that they asked you to read and discuss the chapters in their book first. It felt to me that a Bible study should start in the Bible and then branch out. That is my major criticism.
I do like the way they clearly line out the format they wish you to use in the study and how to use it in different types of studies. I also enjoyed the extra activities and ideas to promote discussion and bonding. Like, I said above, I'm neutral on this study. I am sure someone could benefit and really enjoy this study. I also have no doubt as to the sincerity and hope of the Dungys to be encouraging, uplifting and inspiring. It's definitely worth a look through to see if it can benefit you in your current phase of life.

I totally think if you had a group that loved football this would be a great study to go through. It is a five week Bible Study. Each session includes: something to do before the session (usually reading the chapters and perhaps something to bring), getting started (sharing something regarding the chapters), building an uncommon marriage (questions and things to discuss), looking at God's Word, wrapping up, and on your own. I read through it and it looks like a great study to with your friends who like football and Tony Dungy.
