It makes me sad and somewhat frustrated when you hear black people call other blacks "Uncle Tom" when most of those who are accusing others have never read the book.

Uncle Tom's Cabin, although containing some broad generalizations and assumptions concerning blacks, is complex and brilliant. Though disagreeing with Ms. Stowe on some areas of theology, she had a wonderful gift and used her pen wisely to benefit and aid those in bondage. This book is a page turner in the truest sense and, if one is a believer, one will find inspiration in the main character to fully trust the Lord Jesus Christ in every situation and circumstance.

A young adult at age 14 should be mature enough to comprehend and understand this work; but please use discrection.

Everyone should read Uncle Tom's Cabin, I read it as a child and still love to read it. I share the joys that these people had and I cry at the cruelty that others afflicted upon them. I never could understand why any one thought that they should own someone else; it is inhuman.
