Celebrated for their courage, vision, hospitality, and spiritual giftedness, it's no wonder women were so important to God's place revealed in the Old and New Testaments. It wasn't their natural qualities that made these women extraordinary but the power of the one true God whom they worshipped and served. Their struggles and temptations are the same trials faced by all believers at all ages.
In Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur, you'll learn more than fascinating information about these women, you'll discover--perhaps for the first time--the unmistakable chronology of God's redemptive work in history through their lives. These women were not ancillary to His plan, they were at the very heart of it. And this book includes their amazing stories.
This edition includes a Study Guide for group discussion.

KristinaLeigh5 Stars Out Of 5Twelve Extraordinary WomanApril 9, 2016KristinaLeighQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I read this book in a day. I could not put it down. Mr. MacArthur has an engaging writing style. What floored me most was how he was able to give more information on the prophetess Anna in the New Testament. When ever I read her part in Jesus' history I never paid much attention to her. I wondered how she lived but other than that I'd never thought of her. Mr. MacArthur paints such a wonderful portrait of her with the few simple verse she's in. As for how he approached Hannah, Samuel's Momma, he did the same thing. I never realized that Hannah and her husband had such a bond. He enabled me to see so clearly. I'm excited to read Twelve Ordinary Men, His book on Jesus' Disciples. If you are interested about woman in Old Testament and New Testament History this is a good book to read.

marcia4 Stars Out Of 5Twelve Extraordinary WomenNovember 12, 2015marciaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I love John MacArthur's writing and books. And for the most part, this one as well. But I think his choice to pass up putting Esther from the O.T. in the book and instead he put Anna from the N.T, I don't get it. I get why Anna was a great role model and a Godly woman for sure, but to leave out Esther with the thousands of lives she saved, and her own life in constant jeopardy.. sorry John, I think you goofed. It's still informative as he always is and worth the read.
