Wow! I don't know how she does it . . . but I think Irene Hannon outdoes her previous work every time she writes a new book. Trapped had me fully engaged from the very first words on the first page. In fact, Irene piqued my interest with her trailer (view below) before I ever got my hands on the book.

Irene Hannon is a master at her art of writing romantic suspense from a Christian perspective. Her characters are well developed and very believable. Laura, Dev, Darcy, and the other characters in Trapped are faced with trying to resolve issues from past hurts, looking for answers to questions about God's involvement in their lives, and finding their way in personal relationships -- all while navigating life-threatening dangers

As with all Irene's stories, the plot is gripping, written so that you experience the tension as though you were right in the middle of the scenes. Her extensive research into areas such as law enforcement procedures and medical details lends a valuable sense of credibility to the story. The level of suspense in this book is probably the highest of any of her books so far.

If you're looking for a great suspenseful read with just the right dose of romance, give Trapped a try. I believe you'll be glad you did. I would also recommend the first book in this series, Vanished. Now we have to wait for the third Private Justice book, Deceived, due out in the summer of 2014.

    Loved it!!

Oh my word. Trapped! Three words: I loved it!

I fell in love with Irene Hannon's romantic suspense novels a couple of years ago and have been hooked ever since. While I go into her books knowing (1) who is going to fall in love and (2) that everything is going to turn out okay, I'm always curious as to how she's going to get me to that wonderful "happily ever after." And what a journey Trapped was!

I was hooked on Dev from the very beginning. He was so intriguing with a mysterious tragedy in his past and a "good guy" vibe. His work ethic combined with his determination to follow the "house rules" despite his interest in Laura were admirable traits. And of course his gentlemanly behavior was a plus as well. Laura was a sweet girl and I loved that there were more layers to her than we saw at first meeting. She had plenty of gumption and I admired her strong will and determination to find Darcy. I loved reading about two strong characters that were determined not to let situations in their past hold them back, which is a change from many of the books out there where at least one of the characters has major struggles to overcome.

I will admit that the suspense started off a little slow. Somehow, though, Hannon wrote in such a way that I was hooked in spite of that. I just had to keep reading. About halfway through, the suspense really picked up and it was a fast-paced ride from there!

All in all, this was a great book. The hero was charming. The mystery was interesting. The bad guy was suitably creepy. The plot gained momentum as it went. And the romance was so sweet. I'm happy to recommend this book! [5 stars]

It's nice to get back to Phoenix and it's good looking private investigators. Laura found a bonus when she hire Phoenix and James Devlin to find her runaway sister Darcy.

Darcy wasn't doing too badly out on the streets after she met Star. Star knew the ropes and always steered her right — except for that one time.

Unfortunately Star put both herself and Darcy into danger. It didn't take too long for that danger to reach out and grab Laura, too.

Can Dev find them before it's too late?

This is an edge-of-your-seat, nail biting story. I've certainly enjoyed both of Ms Hannon's Private Justice novels. I'm looking forward to the next one. After all, there are three partners in Phoenix.

Irene Hannon in her new book "Trapped" Book Two in the Private Justice series published by Revell Books takes us into the lives of Laura Griffith and James Devlin

From the back cover: A runaway teen, a desperate sister, and an intrepid PI determined to discover the truth

When Laura Griffith's sixteen-year-old sister disappears on a frigid February day, leaving only a brief note behind, Laura resolves to do whatever it takes to track down the runaway teen. That includes recruiting ATF agent turned private investigator James Devlin to help. Dev knows time is of the essence with runaways—just forty-eight hours can mean the difference between recovery and ruin.

But the deeper he and Laura dig, the more Dev begins to suspect that something sinister is at work in the girl's disappearance. And in the icy winter weather, the trail is going cold . . .

In her latest thrilling read, queen of romantic suspense Irene Hannon outdoes herself with a fast-paced tale of fear, deception, and just the right dose of romance.

Whenever I see Irene Hannon's name on a book I know that I am in for a very exciting read. And with "Trapped" I think she far outshines in the excitement category. I think this is Ms. Hannon's best work so far, she just keeps getting better and better. As soon as you say search and rescue to me the story takes on a new level of danger. The search is on to find Laura's sister and finding her is not going to be easy especially with the storm coming. All of the characters are so well written you begin to think that you have known them all your life and you certainly want them to succeed. With "Trapped" Ms. Hannon has given us a thriller that becomes more and more exciting until the last hundred pages which is an extremely wild ride. All I can say is imagine going on a roller coaster; the beginning of the ride is calm until you get to the top and experience that first drop then it is nothing but twists, turns, upside down loops until the ride ends. This is what Ms. Hannon does to us as readers with this book.

This is a fun read, it is a fast read, however I do not recommend starting this book late at night because it will cost you sleep as you will not want to put it down. Ms. Hannon is an excellent writer and knows how to twist your nerve endings as she tightens the suspense. I recommend this book, and everything else that Ms. Hannon has written, highly!!

Irene Hannon is a master of the romantic suspense genre. In "Vanished", the first book in the Private Justice series that introduces us to Cal, Dev and Connor, three college buddies who formed a detective agency named Phoenix, Inc., after following their dream careers.

In her newest book, "Trapped", Hannon puts Dev in the middle of a beautiful librarian and a runaway teen. Laura Griffith's sixteen-year-old sister, Darcy, is a rebellious teenager who wants to be on her own and away from rules and restrictions. In the middle of a snowstorm, Darcy sets off for the bright lights of New York. Instead, she finds herself in a homeless shelter at the mercy of strangers. One stranger in particular may be more than she bargained for.

Dev and Laura begin a relentless search for Darcy while at the same time fighting back the feelings of attraction for each other. Dev knows he has to find Darcy or his chances with Laura will disappear. Laura needs to find Darcy to make up for all the mistakes she made as her guardian.

Will they find Darcy before she disappears forever? Will trusting the wrong people get Darcy in trouble? Everyone in Hannon's story has something to learn. Will they find the truth? Will they discover the true meaning of love? Will they discover God's purpose in their lives?

As inspiring as it is intense, you will want to skip ahead (but don't) to make sure everything turns out okay. A fast-paced stranger danger novel, "Trapped" will keep you awake until the very end.
