The Fellowship of the Ring. Frodo and Sam have left their friends to take the One Ring into the heart of Mordor and destroy it. While searching for Frodo, enemies attack and carry off the hobbits, Merry and Pippin, and the remainder of the Company races against all odds to their rescue, finding war, treachery, unexpected allies, and the joyous return of an old friend.
