I would definitely recommend this book. My son is 13 and he absolutely loved it. There were days I had to ask him not to read too much of it at a time, so that he would be able to remember all of what he read. He just loved reading it. He wasn't very interested in the subject of "health" until we tried this book. Next year we will be trying the high school version.

Excellent resource for Grades 6 to 9. I bought the test booklet as well and we are using both together. Easy to read, captures the interest of students at this level, and the topics are from a Biblical viewpoint. Covers topics such as fitness, dieting dangers, and how to choose the right paths to becoming a healthy, young adult. Each chapter has discussion questions to help students review what was read, as well as to prepare for the chapter test (should you want to buy the test booklet).

This curriculum does not really benefit students, as it contains easily forgetable material and inaccurate material, it is also difficult to grade the material provided by this curriculum, as tests include things like if the answer is false, mark the thing that is wrong and correct it instead of just writing false, it is also insensitive on many subjects and is unnecessarily hard on some parts, it also uses the food pyramid instead of the myplate, please choose a better curriculum because this one does not help students learn, as a lot of the material has already been taught to the students at younger stages in life and ends up actually confusing them, it also doesn't really have a good mental health section, it doesn't mention therapy or other safe treatment, it doesn't explain different mental disorders such as depression and anxiety, which are very important, and with this curriculum having almost no interactive functionalities, students become bored quickly, it also does not have adaptive answers as much as I would like to see, so it says list 4 ways germs are spread, the answer key wants a very specific 4, but there are way more than 4 ways that germs spread, this material is repetitive and difficult for students.
