Without sustaining evidence, Libby is a prime suspect in the disappearance of her friend and business partner, Nicole. They restore old historic homes and have come to the Outer Banks for a project when Nicole is snatched away. Libby also learns, to her amazement that her father, whom she had thought dead, just passed away recently, leaving her a beautiful old hotel. There is much under the surface and the path of discovery leads Libby down a dangerous but informative path.

Wonderful characters, vivid and enchanting story telling will keep the pages turning.

Trouble can be found in the most beautiful places.

When Libby find that she has inherited the pictureque Tidewater Inn from the deceased father she never knew, she is shocked to find that his death is recent. Rather than him having died when she was five like her mother had told her. On Hope Beach Libby meets a whole other part of her family that she never knew existed. But trouble comes bursting forth like a hurricane, will Libby be able to convince those around that she isn't the source?

Another great book from Colleen Coble! I loved how I could read this book quickly, at a fast pace. There was alot going on and definitely some suspense that made me turn the pages even faster!

I liked how the characters interacted with each other, very believably. Though there were times when I was like, "Why isn't he doing something by now!"

The characters were well rounded, and I liked how there wasn't only action and suspense, but there was also an emotional side to the drama. Oh, and don't let me forget that there was also a romanic air to the wind :)

Overall, this was another wonderful read from Colleen Coble, so if you have read her books before or you haven't, Tidewater Inn is a satisfying journey that have you turning the pages rapidly!

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

    5 Stars *****

In this book one of The Hope Beach Series, Colleen Coble once again has created a book that grabs you from the very beginning with excitement and a list of characters that you will love, with a setting you can only dream about.

Libby Holladay, a restorer of historical houses, is in business with her friend, Nicole Ingram. Nicole goes to look at some property on Hope Island they have been hired to restore. While there she accidentally finds out that Libby's father Ray Holladay has recently died, and left Libby the beautiful Tidewater Inn.

When Nicole tells Libby what's she's discovered about Libby's father, Libby is shocked! Her father died when she was five years old, or at least that's what her mom told her all of her life. Could her mom have lied to her, yes; she was irresponsible and most of Libby's life she had to take care of her mom but was she also a liar? While talking to Libby, Nicole is standing in front of a web-cam on Hope Beach, and is kidnapped right in front of Libby's eyes. Doing the only thing she can she calls 9-11 and tells them what has happened.

When Libby arrives at Hope Beach the next day she goes to the police to see if they have found Nicole, and instead of looking for the men Libby tells them she saw, they accuse her of killing Nicole and dumping her body in the ocean. What is going on? Why would anyone want to kidnap Nicole and why would the police think Libby is guilty?

While Libby is investigating Nicole's kidnapping she runs into Alec Bourne that is a Captain in the Coast Guard. Alec seems too good to be true especially when he tells Libby he will take some time off from his job to help her search for Nicole. He fails to tell her his cousin the sheriff, asks him to keep an eye on Libby, hoping she will mess up and tell them why she killed Nicole. While spending time with Alec Libby feels her heart opening up to him, but what will happen when she finds out what the Sheriff has asked Alec to do? Will it destroy her faith in him?

The more Libby is on the island, the more she learns about her father, she gets to met family she didn't know about. She has a sweet aunt that seems to welcome her but when she meets her half-sister and brother they are not happy in the least. Has her Father set her up for a fall by leaving her the Inn? Will she be able to establish a relationship with her brother and sister or are they the ones that are trying to scare her off or even try to kill her?

Colleen surely has written a gripping novel, I was drawn in from the first page when Nicole is kidnapped in front of Libby's eyes. There are a lot of twists and turns and you will be guessing up until the end who is behind all the mystery and drama. Thank you Colleen, I truly enjoyed it!

I was given an arc by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Colleen Coble in her new book "Tidewater Inn" Book One in the Hope Beach series published by Thomas Nelson takes us into the life of Libby Holladay.

From the back cover: Welcome to Hope Beach. A place of intoxicating beauty . . . where trouble hits with the force of a hurricane.

Inheriting a beautiful old hotel on the Outer Banks could be a dream come true for Libby. The inn cries out for her restorer's talent and love of history. She's delighted to learn of the family she never knew she had. And the handsome Coast Guard lieutenant she's met there on the island could definitely be the man of her dreams.

But Libby soon realizes that the only way she can afford the upkeep on the inn is to sell it to developers who are stalking the island. The father who willed her the inn has died before she could meet him, and her newfound brother and sister are convinced she's there to steal their birthright. Worst of all, her best friend and business partner has been kidnapped before her eyes, and Libby's under suspicion for the crime.

Libby's dream come true is becoming a nightmare. Her only option is to find her friend and prove her innocence, or lose everything on the shores of Hope Island.

"Tidewater Inn" is a thriller in that characters lives are in danger practically from the first page. There is a kidnapping, suspicious new family and land developers who are what they seem. On top of this there is a romance between Libby and Alec a Coast Guard Lieutenant. Ms. Coble knows how to write characters that come alive off the page. This is a fast-paced read that will keep you guessing as to what is really going on. When you add in the themes of trust, in each other and in God, as well as God has the control this story has the force of a rocket blast-off. I recommend this book highly!
