This book is so unique and offers a very different perspective on historical novels. It is hard not to enjoy the fable, not to connect with the powerful emotions displayed by the characters that --- considering their species --- act, speak, and think like humans. Jenny L. Cote weaves great dialogues into a spellbinding story. The language is "sans pareille" and there is no way the reader won't feel intimately involved in the story. Whether it is Al shouting with glee at victory, or Liz wondering what her next move would be in a stream of consciousness, the drama feels so real that the reader is connected with the characters. I had wonderful moments with these characters like when: "Al sat up excitedly. 'I get to live with the KING?! Hooray, another palace!' he cheered, but then frowned. 'I'll miss me lass, though.' He enveloped Liz in a smothering hug." The Voice, the Revolution and the Key (The Epic Order of the Seven) is a classic, a fable that will transport readers into another era and make them feel like they are watching history unfolding before their gaze. A delightful read, indeed. The humor was gorgeous! I just became a fan of Jenny L. Cote and can't wait for the next books in the series.

What was your motivation behind this project? I'm passionate about America's founding history, and Patrick Henry is my Favorite Founding Father. Our children are no longer learning the true, detailed history of how we became One Nation Under God. My desire is to make kids passionate about history so they'll be country loving Patriots and leaders.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Sadly, Patrick Henry - "The Voice of the Revolution" has been forgotten by our nation, and is only remembered for seven little words: GIVE ME LIBERTY, OR GIVE ME DEATH! He said far more than that, and did so much more for our nation beyond rallying us to Independence, including giving us our precious Bill of Rights. He was an amazing Christian, a man of integrity and devoted to his family and country. I show Patrick Henry, George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette as young children because I want kids to see how great leaders are made. Before they were Founding Fathers, they were Founding Children. May young readers be inspired to rise up and lead our country with integrity and selfless humility as Patrick Henry.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Patrick Henry is not remembered because he did not CARE about being remembered. He knew it wasn't about him! He declined numerous national offices to return to practice law to take care of his family and the debt that he had accrued while serving five terms as Governor of Virginia. In studying Patrick Henry and George Washington and the sacrifices they and other founders made for the good of our nation, I am saddened to see how far our nation's leaders have fallen. I pray the next generation will rise above mediocrity and self-serving politics and choose to serve our great nation as true patriots.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? God is my boss, so I just take dictation from Him! I do extensive, exhausting research to get the history rock solid, and I read many books that have influenced my pen with understanding our history. I also personally interview historians and have been to visit countless historical sites and museums. It was Colonial Williamsburg's Patrick Henry, Richard Schumann, who first brought Patrick Henry to life for me, and I knew I wanted to write his story from that moment.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: My highest priority is for parents to feel safe with their children inside the pages of my books. My heart's desire is to bring history to life for kids (and adults!) in a fun, engaging, exciting way without compromising historical fact, spiritual truth or moral integrity. I pray my books will leave you happy, hopeful and eager to keep reading!
