As I said in my other review, this is a great trilogy and if you read them you should read them in order. This is a great story of Grace, a girl of mixed parentage who's parents deal in the slave trade. To encourage you to keep reading, she does find her husband in this story. There is sadness, friendship, fear, relief, its a good story that ends to fast.

The final book in this series was well worth the wait! It captures a tremendous blemish in our history (that unfortunately still exists in some countries)! The author captures the struggle in government to abolish slavery without detracting from the difficult journey Grace makes from London to be reunited with her husband, who was sold into slavery in the US. While painting a sad picture of the lives of those sold into slavery, there is always a frame of hope surrounding it, because of the determination of a few to end this abomination. If you're looking for a series that will touch you, start with the first book and continue on, it will leave an indelible print on your heart.

I have read all three. God triumphs over all and the storyline reinforces it. It is about more than slavery. It is about how God can be trusted to bring you through even when it appears impossible.

I was excited to find an end to the devastation of separation and enjoyed finding expressions of God's faithfulness and provision and protection throughout.
