This is the latest installment in what has been an excellent series of children's videos. Previous releases depicted the lives of Jim Elliot, John Bunyan and William Tyndale. In this cartoon video, children will be introduced to the running career and the missionary career of Eric Liddell, the subject of the Chariots of Fire movie from the 1980's. I was impressed with this video and would strongly recommend it to for both Christian families and for churches. We showed it to our children at church (K-5th grade) and they loved it. I appreciated how much of this movie centered on Eric's missionary work in China and was not only or mainly about his career as an olympic runner.

If I could rate this dvd higher I would. Not because I think it is the best animation, but , because of the message and the way it touched my son and I. We homeschool, and I am the children's ministry director for our church and have been for about 20 years . I have seen a lot of dvds, videos etc for Christian children. This one really spoke about listening to God when He speaks and choosing Him over what you want as well as putting other first even if they don't like you..and standing up for what you believe. It is not often young boys or girls have a real life role model like that. I cannot wait to get more in this series.

I bought this for Easter. It kept the entire family's attention--from age five and up. After my boys watched it the first time, they turned it on and watched it again. It was a great story about being a servant for Christ. I would recommend this as ongoing education for children who already have some Bible knowledge; not really an evangelism tool for biblically illiterate kids but great for kids who are ready for 'meat'.

The dvd was great, and conservative. Many of my church members have been greatly blessed by this dvd to be more committed and to be more sacrificial: to put Christ first above all. It is both entertaining and encouraging: my children loves it. may the Lord keep on using these dvds to light the way for our younger generation to know Christ and to serve Him!

I like the Torchlighters Series. They are well done and give my 9 year old a chance to meet some real heroes of the Christian faith.
