Carolina Series
Tandi Jo Reese's life is finally on track. She is going to marry a wonderful man in two weeks, her children are happy and the Benoit museum will be opening soon. After coming across the prayer boxes Iola Poole left behind...it really changed Tandi's life.
One thing hasn't changed though, her sister Gina. Tandi receives notice she is being sued for fraud, and it all ends up at Gina's door, again. When another blast from the past hits Tandi her world begins to tilt slightly. Can Paul's love and her new understanding of God carry her through this crisis as well?
This is a short novella that picks up on Tandi's life after The Prayer Box. Sometimes you have to face the past head on in order to move ahead to path before you. You can't keep walking forward while looking behind. The struggles Tandi faces are so real. Loving someone and yet having to be firm isn't easy with her dysfunctional past trying to hang on.

CherylAge: 45-54Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Great sister storyJune 26, 2019CherylAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5He comes in summer, when the air is still and the bullfrogs sing in the sedges and the nightjars wail their quick, haunting calls: Chuck Will's widow, Chuck Will's widow... ~First line
This is another Lisa Wingate hit! Tandi Jo was first introduced in The Sea Glass Sisters and The Prayer Box and captured my heart. Tandi returns to the Tidewater in North Carolina, a place that holds difficult memories. I sympathize with her when she gets tangled in a lawsuit and had strong emotions toward her sister Gina as well. Tandi's relationship with her sister is more than strained, and so much is revealed about their past. A powerful and highly emotional read with a sweet ending.
I think of an old sermon my grandfather quoted from time to time--something about not looking back when you're plowing a field, but instead finding a mark in the distance and focusing on that. Otherwise, the rows won't come out straight. ~Excerpt from The Tidewater Sisters

Chris aka NanaUtahAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5At Last Answers for Tandi Jo...August 22, 2014Chris aka NanaUtahAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The Sea Glass Sisters Novella started the story. Then came The Prayer Box and now the postlude to The Prayer Box with this novella. Tandi Jo finally gets answers to unresolved questions and is able to put the past where it belongs, in the past. This is a great ending to The Prayer Box however maybe it won't be the end of some of the characters. Who is to say they won't tie into future stories the author may write?

Virginiaupstate NYAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5GoodJuly 29, 2015Virginiaupstate NYAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a novella that follows the author's novel The Prayer Box, and continues the story of Tandi Jo. I thought it was interesting to read about the characters from the novel again, and for Tandi Jo to get some closure about her past. I hope to see some of these characters in future books.
