Paul Hornbeck5 Stars Out Of 5Really Interesting InformationJanuary 25, 2016Paul HornbeckQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Very interesting information. Makes you think about just how much attention God paid to the creation and how much He wants us to know His love for us. As this video clearly shows "The heavens declare the glory of God".
CL5 Stars Out Of 5Fantastic!!December 31, 2015CLQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Amazing video! So many neat things. Always assumed the star was outside the normal course of the stars. Something God added to the sky to announce Jesus' birth. So awesome to see that it was more than even that! God had this all planned before time even began! He is a God more awesome than our simple minds can possibly comprehend! Highly recommend this video!!
Rod1 Stars Out Of 5Don't purchaseDecember 28, 2015RodQuality: 3Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1The explanation of the Christmas Star is interesting but the extrapolation to date the time the magi arrived on Christmas Day and to explain the crucifixion's date go beyond what seems reasonable. I would not recommend this for purchase and maybe not even for viewing unless it is put together with other more reasoned explanations of the Christmas Star.
Justpeachy3623 Stars Out Of 5Star of Bethlehem DVDDecember 28, 2015Justpeachy362Quality: 3Value: 2Meets Expectations: 3This film revealed some facts that were very interesting to me, worth the watch, and for a person who has not done an extensive study of the Nativity, it would seem totally correct and excitingly believable, and give concrete answers to all of the questions one might have about the "Star." However, IMHO, the lawyer, astronomer-wanna-be, Larson, presumes a LOT; first, that he has the perfect answer, second, that all the work done by all scientists, archaeologists, theologians, historians, and astronomers up to this time are dead wrong, that his is the only explanation possible because he is so brilliant and has possession of this software program that exceeds the boundaries of the human mind, and, indeed, a lot of the film is him flipping around from window to window on the classroom screen. He also is pointing all naive believers to his web site, bethlehemstar.com. He is actually way off base. There is so much that doesn't work, it would require an extensive debate here, but let's just say in the interests of forgiveness, he has an opinion of what happened, as do many. Additionally, this film focuses a lot of the video time on his face, talking about his personal experiences, him talking about how he felt in his discovery process, and this egocentrism seemed totally out of place given the subject matter. Also, the video was swinging repeatedly to the faces of the rapt audience to whom he is presenting this show, eyes wide and chins hitting the floor. I found this annoying as I was interested in the subject, even though I doubted its veracity, and I did not want to watch the looks of amazement from his beginner studio class. I wanted the film to get back to the actual presentation. It would be better (not more believable however) if the director had less Larson time and more Jesus time in the film. Still it was interesting from an astronomy point of view, I just don't happen to believe what he was expounding as "Gospel truth." I wouldn't say it was a waste of time, I would just caution anyone who is new to the subject to approach it with caution and an open mind that this is just his opinion, he has the resources to make this film, and do some other research in addition before walking away in rapt amazement and talking about it with the kids.
Mary A. Hubinsky5 Stars Out Of 5The title is goodDecember 23, 2015Mary A. HubinskyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I loved it so much I bought it for several friends and family members. I have read this and shared it with people through the years but this film, showing it visually and expressing it verbally better than I have been able to - is excellent. It was much better than any rendition of these facts I have found anywhere else and it also had information I had missed or just had not found before. I loved it.
