KathraeSouthern IdahoAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A real inspiration!June 17, 2014KathraeSouthern IdahoAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a great movie for all ages, but it's most definitely a movie that junior high school children would be motivated to touch other people's lives. Children seem to be underestimated on how much impact they can have in other people's lives. This will encourage them to reach out to kids their own age and beyond.

MadrasVierMid-AtlanticAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Sweet, Pure, and Engaging StoryAugust 27, 2011MadrasVierMid-AtlanticAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5There are some on this site who have written reviews about this movie stating that it is "slow", "preaching to the choir", and "we need to do better getting the gospel out".
In my opinion, this movie is one which serves to encourage believers, even young ones, to love and trust the Lord Jesus with all they are. Certainly we who are old enough can recall bullies who used less than gracious or just plain foul language and we can recall ugly times in our youth that make this film seem "unrealistic". But, as believers, we need to remember that whatever we do and say must be pleasing to the Lord and edifying to everyone else; whether this be writing books or making film. The message conveyed will glorify the Lord or cause the world to revile His name.
In "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry", Mr. Christiano does a fabulous job of portraying the problems of youth without displaying on film those graphic words or actions which would offend and/or cause others to sin. He does a wonderful job of keeping the film pure. In a day where even some "Christian" films are tainted with with Holllywood filth, this film is refreshing and a wonderful addition to any family collection. -
