I am studying this book in a group with the associate pastor leading it. This book is a followup for the group to Waking the Dead by John Eldredge. The two books are dovetailing nicely. It is fascinating to see how C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters gets into the head of how Satan attacks us and what his strategies are for separating us from God and our destiny that was planned by Him. Awesome book!

This is the second book I read from C.S. Lewis's signature classics. All I could say is WOW... every word in the "Screwtape Letters" is just very convicting. I honestly, had to put down the book numerous times to reflect about my own walk as a Christian.

Just to give a gist of the book... (I don't want to spoil it, because I think this is a masterpiece everyone should read) :) The book is a series of letters addressed to Wormwood from his uncle - Screwtape. These letters are meant to train up and groom young Wormwood into becoming a successful tempter. This classic sheds light on the unnoticeable ways in which the devil tempts us in our day to day lives.

I highly recommend this book to everyone! Most especially to those entering (or are in) college. This book will challenge one to think deeply about their personal relationship and walk with God.

What a marvelous book! Lewis could grasp what most of us Christians tend to forget: the work of the devil in our lives and minds. However, he doesn't do it in a demon-obsessed way nor in a skeptical way as seen in many modern churches, but rather with a well-balanced Bible-based humour-filled writing. This book is a Christian classic and now I know why!

    Demon to demon

"The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis is an interesting book that's 209 pages long. It's a fictitious account of a senior demon writing to a junior demon about one man, the junior demon's "patient".

While I have been a fan of C.S. Lewis and his books for a sometime, believe it or not I have never read "The Screwtape Letters" until now. I have to admit that it took a little bit for me to get into the book but once I was about a quarter of the way through the book it defiantly kept my attention. Each letter is about three pages long which makes it easy to grab and read a letter if you only have a few minutes.

There were many insights I found and some things that made me pause and think long and hard about, things that hit a little too close to home.

The book is not too hard to read but remember it was written by Lewis and he was not an American living in 2012 so some of the words and sayings might not connect but the overall flavor of the book should have its impact on you.

    Well worth reading.

In this book C. S. Lewis gives a very good and realistic insight into how demons try and tempt people to sin with the temptation varying on the individual persons weaknesses and the situations they are faced with in their daily lifes makes this a great book and a must read for any Christian.
