My 7 yr old daughter and I watched this movie last weekend, after we purchased it...We could hardly wait to see it, as we love Veggie Tale movies. This movie has such an excellent message that having all the material things you desire does not make you a better or happier person, you are GOD's princess no matter what...We can have a spirit of joy and peace when we know who we belong to, no matter our circumstances. LOVE!!! LOVE!!! LOVE!!! I had to have tissues for this one...

For the most part, I have always thought Veggietales movies were not just great but 5 star worthy productions; except maybe that one Easter movie they did last year that was ok... Having that in mind, I like to buy Veggietales movies every now and then, and while looking up movies one day I saw this new title which just came out. One thing I like about the concept for The Penniless Princess is that this is based on a book. Of course, the main thing to keep in mind, however, will this like other Big Idea films be worthy of a 5 star review or not...

The Penniless Princess is a story about a wealthy, little girl who is enrolled at a private boarding school while her father is away. Despite her Father's riches, Sara is a very sweet girl who treats everyone including "the help" with equal respect; despite one of her classmates and the boarding school mistress' disagreement. One day Sara learns her father died and since there is no sign of any Will, she is broke and must live the life of a servant in order to remain apart of the school. Will living a life no longer apart of the upper class make Sara more bitter, or will she teach everyone a valuable lesson about life?

The Penniless Princess is a great story, I nearly cried during certain moments of this film. This is the type of film which women will appreciate the most, but is great for the entire family. The silly song Best Friends Forever I thought was pretty funny, because it makes fun of how obsessive some people can be with cellphones lol. I also enjoyed what Veggietales promotes in regard to true value and how to treat changing circumstances; we need to be more humble in all of our life situations. Some people I have heard online have said "Veggietales isn't as good as it used to be" and after seeing a movie like The Penniless Princess I must strongly disagree. Keep up the good work guys!

I am new to the veggie collection; however, this video is a must have when it comes to lessons on: handling loss, cruel people, miss fortune, and being happy regardless of your circumstance. This will ultimately bring blessings your way. The ending message is God knows all things and sees all things. And being steadfast and faithful in all you do regardless what's happening around you, will bring a blessing in the end with a promise.

It might be pretty safe to say that this is my favorite Veggie Tales video so far and that is saying something. We love Veggie Tales in general for the fun and valuable material that it provides for the family, but lately I have been extremely satisfied with the retelling or touching of classic stories. Earlier this year with Robin Hood and now with the classic tale of A Little Princess. Watching the film a Little Princess was a big part of my childhood, and I have many memories of watching it again and again. Having two daughters of my own I look forward to reading the story aloud with them as they get older to a long read-aloud story time. (We're getting there!) A Little Princess is such a wonderful story with so many elements on being a good person and not giving up hope. Being genuine in so many ways. This movie has it all and delivers it in a great and fun family friendly way full of entertainment.

The songs through out the "play" part of the story are very contemporary broadway-like in my opinion and that makes them fun to learn and sing aloud to. They are both heart twinging and also beautiful, but I could picture myself belting them out... maybe when the Enginerd is not home... The on to the silly song. OMGosh! So silly and so much fun. I'm not sure I could learn the words all to sing along to that one, it would take a good bit of effort. I remember when text messaging first started... LOL ;) Each of the characters in this film are picked really well and fit perfectly. While the ending is slightly different from what I remember, I'm not sure I have read the story as opposed to seeing previous film versions... so who knows what's what in that, but one day! I'm delighted to have this in our film collection both for Veggie Tales, but also for girl's classics. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a must-have for every family.

Excellent story for little (and bigger) girls on their value and their attitudes!! I love that it follows rather closely for Veggietales the story of "A Little Princess" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. My six year old granddaughter was glued to the tv!!
