I have just finished reading this book. I have read at least 10 different books on the Revelation of Jesus Christ. For the most part they border on something akin to Grimm's Fairy Tales. Most of the authors try to make more of what is there than there is. John is told to write what he sees and hears. And, he does. What he doesn't do is give a commentary to go along with his visions. Wilcock, in my opinion, does a great job of making common and practical sense of John's images/visions. I have come to the belief that it is our responsibility to discern the meaning of what John saw and heard. Wilcock does that. He uses scripture only to unravel the details of the visions and uses scripture to make sense of what the Lord is showing and telling John. Wilcock's book is a must read if you want to get away from commentaries that leave you scratching your heard or being left with the "feeling" that this one is just a bit off of the mark.

I read Things to Come by Dwight Pentecost and it was an awesome eschatology book with a pretribulation/ premillenial perspective but this book on Revelation in the Bible Speaks Today series' takes an amillenialist interpretation of scripture which I thought was heretical but over all it adds new insight into the word of God and multiplies the Book of Revelation's devotional, practical, day to day food for life kind of reading which I found to be nourishing. Good book.
