The Best from The Old WorldWhat a wonderful product! This Bible has the classic King James Version masterfully united with my favorite Bible commentator. This is the best from the old world, as both originated in the 1600's. Its value to the Bible reader is that it is void of contemporary thought. This sets it apart from many of todays more popular materials. This hard cover volume is easy to hold and carry around. Each page has an orderly displayed layout. The font for the commentary may be a bit small but its so easy to read. Each verse in the commentary starts indented, with chapter, verse number and the targeted scripture verse in bold font, which cleanly separates it from the commentary on the verse before.I am happy to report that this is more of a Commentary Bible than a Study Bible. Dont misunderstand me; the texts of Scripture are totally separated from the commentary. However, as each comment is on the same page as the corresponding scripture, I find myself reading these concurrently. The Matthew Henry Complete and Unabridged Commentary is cumbersome/voluminous and becomes fairly wordy. This Bible cuts to the chase and presents his most significant observations. In my quick studies, or when gathering with various Bible Study groups, I am now using this KJV Commentary Bible along with my NIV Study Bible. I am recommending that you add this to your favorite Study Bible as well.Gordon Sironen

This review was written for The Matthew Henry Bible, Flexisoft blue/gray.
My family jokes that I'm sort of a "Bible Collector", because I always love to get new Bibles with different features. But, since getting this Bible, I don't forsee ever needing a different one. This one is AWESOME! It has the time-tested, reliable, and very thorough notes from Matthew Henry, and is written in such a way as to be very life-applicable as well as instructive. It often provides insights that I haven't considered even after reading the Bible through for over 25 years!!

Plus, the quality and the appearance is just as great! Very attractive Bible with a nice, well-made construction.

    I love it!

This is a good Bible for those who want to experience Matthew Henry's notes without going through the large commentary. It gives his quick synopsis of most scriptures or scriptural sections. His notes are considered to be the best by many bible scholars. He generally gives you notes that apply the bible to your life (like the Life Application Bible). It also has good references. Don't let the price fool you, this is a very well made bible. It seems as though it is on clearance.

Seems like a grand Study Bible to me. In fact I have two..the gray and navy thumb indexed one and a hardcover one to perhaps give away soon when I find the right person for it. I like the typeset for it, and that is has the words of Jesus in red. ( hard to find that ). The only problem I see is that the side references are written a bit too small, smaller than the rest of the text on the pages. Personally I need reading glasses to read anything, but I sure have to have them to read the references. Nice concordance in back. Nice book introductions. Very nicely laid out. And I have always loved the Matthew Henry commentaries....since I was a young girl. Used them all through college and high school. Great choice for a study Bible. You won't be disappointed. Makes a nice gift also! At these prices, almost anyone can afford to buy several for gifts!
