Rev. Keith Powell5 Stars Out Of 5September 8, 2007Rev. Keith PowellThis review was written for The Knowledge of the Holy. This is by far the best book ever written about God. I have read hundreds of books but this one is the very best. Tozer had an encounter with God that all of us should want. He drew closer and closer to God as God revealed more of His attributes to the writer. Tozer pens the experience of seeing God more clearly than any writer I have ever read. This book is for those who are ready to step down off of their throne and allow God His rightful place.

Kirsten5 Stars Out Of 5Great Theology, don't know why the book is pricy?July 26, 2022KirstenQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5E.M. had a great review in this section! Short, simple, and deep. A book to read slowly just one chapter at a time. Short chapters lead the readers to the footstool of God in worship and awe. ...Tozer's language is somewhat archaic but that is no detriment to a person seeking to know the reality of God. A beautiful book to be savored slowly.
I want to elaborate.
This is a book that prepares one's heart to worship. Worship will be engaging and cause you mind to think upon that which is expansive and breathtaking, this is how A.W.Tozer allows your mind to meditate on the attributes of God. While working or resting this will enrapture your mind by contemplating a chapter at a time. I have read this book a couple of times and friends and I have done some studies on the book. And as E.M. stated in his review There is old English, but let that not make you scared. This book is small but rich in theology.
To Quote from The Knowledge of the Holy . . the most revealing thing about the Church is her idea of God, just as her most significant message is what she says about Him or leaves unsaid, for her silence is often more eloquent than her speech. . . Left to ourselves we tend immediately to reduce God to manageable terms. . . We want a God we can in some measure control.
It is good for the church to think on such things, God is God and we are just man.

Tozer is well known for his love and devotion to The Almighty. He uses exacting, illustrative speech to describe our God in such a way to create that sense of awe and wonder we yearn for as we seek His magnificent presence. Tozer delivers us to His doorstep as he teaches profoundly using Old English grammar (doesn't waste a word) to detail the aspects of God's personality. I have read, reread and absorbed these cherishable words into my soul. I keep this book close by and read often to keep me fearfully and reverently in His presence.
