When I discovered that this New Testament translation was published earlier this summer in the UK as 'the New Testament for Everyone', I ordered it immediately. I have had this "advanced" copy for about a month now have been reading it devotionally. I have also flipped through it to compare against other common translations for sermon preparation and general interest or study. Furthermore, I have shared it with friends and family to peruse at leisure.

The consensus has been positive. I have thoroughly enjoyed the freshness of the reading in devotions without it being such a great departure as to be a distraction (I find Peterson's Msg to be so). Compared to established renderings such as the NIV, NLT, NASB, NRSV, etc. I would say it is like combining the intent of the Msg while remaining faithful to the Greek as with the NRSV. This should not be surprising since Wright's decision to produce his own translation came from not wanting to use the NIV and NRSV and commenting on differences or what he would have done for his commentary series.

I have likewise found Wright's translation helpful when comparing various translations for differences. I'm sure some will object in various places as with any translation, but this is precisely why I recommend it. Differences force us to look at the text anew and seek to understand more accurately, deeply, and strongly than before.

I highly recommend this translation produced over the last decade as part of Tom Wright's recently completed "For Everyone" New Testament Commentary series here combined into one seamless whole.

I have found "The Kingdom New Testament: A Contemporary Translation" to be most useful in both preparing sermons and for my personal New Testament reading.

I purchased a copy of this amazing translation about 9 years ago (when it was produced by HarperOne) and over the years the binding wore out enough for me to want to purchase a new one to replace my old one. Upon receiving my order I noticed that the binding was too small and butted up to the pages. I contacted customer service to inform them of the poor quality of the book, they were kind enough to send me another "inspected" copy but unfortunately the binding was the same. Conclusion: this batch of KNT (made by Zondervan) are not well done. I am sad that such a great translation is in such a horrible binding.
