When you pick up a novel from Suzanne Woods Fisher you know you are going to be taken to a place that is going to leave an impact on you. A place where you will meet new friends and think of them as family. She has a gift of opening up your heart and allowing the words penned before you to touch you with each page.

We go to Stoney Ridge and meet up with the Lapp family and their friends. Each character is vibrant and in this novel, they all carry great burdens. I love seeing them come to a place where honesty kicks in and they are able to breathe in joy once again. I fell in love with Julia Lapp and the character that I really enjoyed was the Bee man, Roman Troyer. Now, you all will find a farm in need of repair. I love how Suzanne writes! The lady knows how to connect the reader to the story! You too will find folks in need of some repair and that is where you see faith and growth come in and touch these characters. In fact, aren't we all in need of some repairing? Only one Carpenter that can do the repairs we need! Oh, and the Bee man, Roman, also another great analogy of how we too can spread the love and seed of faith to all we meet!

As you meet these characters you can be very quick to make assumptions about them. Maybe that is a great lesson this book carried for me. Don't be so quick to do so because we all come with a story. We call carry parts of the past with us. It has a way of making us who we are. In order for these characters to really find themselves and a joy they never knew before they must realize that trusting God is the only way to live and letting go of fear is part of seeing your faith grow.

I loved these characters and there are valuable lessons to be carried away from this novel. We learn of loss and moving on with a heart filled with memories and love. What really grabs me is the way forgiveness is portrayed in this novel. Oh, how I want to have a heart that is so forgiving. We see that forgiveness is a release and also carries with it much hope for the future. I am excited to see how the story continues with book 2.

Suzanne's best fiction book so far!! Julia reminded me of myself when I was her age. Just knowing that what I wanted was what God wanted for me. Boy, was I mistaken and thank goodness for that!! I cannot wait for the next book. What a story. Laughter, tears, joy & sadness but overall, God's plan for the Lapp family. and thank goodness for that...

When am I going to admit that I am once again a fan of Amish fiction? Right now. I got sick and tired of the same ol', same ol' when reading Amish fiction in the earlier years of this decade but it's quickly become one of my favorite genres again. With her latest novel Suzanne Woods Fisher has cemented herself and her Amish stories right on my "must read" list. Yep, it's all because of her wonderful, heartrending and impulsively readable novels that I'm HOOKED on Plain fiction.

The Keeper is quite possibly going to go on my best books of 2012 list! Yes I just posted my 2011 list last week and I'm already making room for this book to go on December 2012's list. The characters, the setting and most importantly the story are beautiful. As I began to read this I thought how wonderfully light and refreshing this was going to be but it was so much more than that. By the end of the story I was reaching for the tissues. Each and every one of the characters will imprint themselves in your heart but possibly none more so than M.K. and Menno, two of our heroine Julia Lapp's younger siblings. If ever there were two fictional characters you wish you could meet in reality it's those two. I dare you to come back here after you have read this book and tell me you didn't like them.

Fisher has a real knack for making the Plain life anything but simple and teaches lessons in love and life that we can all learn from. In just over 300 pages she managed to make me laugh, growl in frustration then cry my eyes out and hook me so completely that I have to keep reading this series. Revell will you please push up the release date of Sadie's story so I can read it ASAP? If you only read one Amish book this year make sure it's this one, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

A young Amish woman, Julia Lapp has one thing on her mind and that is to marry Paul Fisher. But thanks to Roamin Roman, the beekeeper, Paul cancelled their wedding not for the first time but the second time. Due to some comments made by Roman Troy.

Julia's character is headstrong, pretty and very intelligent. Now Paul is tied to his mother's apron strings and has wandering eyes. Then there is Roman he knows what he wants in life and it is not a wife

or to be tied down in any one place. He makes sure everyone knows this. It is him and is bees on the road town to town.

When Julia's father needs an extra hand or two around the Windmill Farm they end up with a housekeeper/cook and a farm hand. Everything and everyone around the farm are in for the Lord's will and a lot of unexpected but welcomed changes. God teaches them Faith, Hope and Charity.

    I highly recommend this book!

    I rate this book a 5 out of 5.

Suzanne Woods Fisher has written another great Amish story -- The Keeper, the first book of her new Stoney Ridge Seasons series.

Julia Lapp is heartbroken -- or is it angry -- when her fiance calls off their upcoming wedding -- again. And she is certain she knows who is to blame --The Bee Man! When Roman Troyer brings his bees back to the community and then ends up staying longer than usual, right on the Lapp property, Lydia has to deal with a confusing mixture of feelings. And to make matters worse, her father's failing health puts her in a position of responsibility for her younger siblings and the care of the family's Windmill Farm. Will she be able to trust in God's care to heal her hurting heart and carry her through tougher times than she ever imagined possible?

This was another very enjoyable story by Suzanne Woods Fisher. At some times, I felt that the story seemed a little disjointed; certain scenes seemed to not fit together smoothly. Before the end of the book, though, the pieces fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. And I have to admit that the big developments toward the end caught me off-guard but presented a beautiful picture of God's perfect plan.
