WilaniFranklin, NCAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Must ReadNovember 7, 2013WilaniFranklin, NCAge: 55-65Gender: femaleThe Icecutter's Daughter by Tracie Peterson is a great read. It is the first book in the Land of Shining Water series. As the only daughter in her home, Merrill is kept busy taking care of her father and brothers and not much time to prepare to be a bride as most girls her age. God took care of that for her. Merril and Rurik work through the problems of town gossip and hurt and learn to forgive. I hated to have the story end and am so glad that I have the second book in the series ready to be read.

4SparrowVirginiaAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful story!March 4, 20134SparrowVirginiaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Wonderful story! Icecutters?! I found the story of this dangerous, laborious occupation a fascinating backdrop to a well told historical tale. Tracie Peterson's books have a depth that resounds with the authentic complexities of human nature. I found myself aching for not only the main characters troubles but also feeling for the protagonist's trials. The tensions of the characters lives kept me reading, not wanting to miss anything. This novel subjects the reader to the realities of human nature while revealing a forgiving, loving God. A worthy read.
