LOVED THIS ONE TOO! I trust this author's research completely since I saw her on ABC Nightline and the news show verified her connection with the Amish. And then the front page of the WSJ said she has a huge following of Amish readers, but more than those things, she writes stories that stick with me for months after I'm done. Her stuff is never straight romance. She digs deep and tells of the struggles people have, but in every book there's such a powerful element of hope beyond the heartache.

The Hope of Refuge is the first book in a new series by Cindy Woodsmall. I loved her Sisters of the Quilt series for its depth of characters, accurate protrayal of the Amish, and of course, for the wonderful love story between Paul and Hannah. I have been looking forward to this new series and I am so pleased to report that this new book is wonderful! Woodsmall brings us new characters to love with the introduction of Cara and Ephraim in The Hope of Refuge. The story is an absolute page turner with each new chapter delivering characters that not only bring you into the world of the Amish, but connect deeply with your heart. I highly recommend The Hope of Refuge and now am anxiously awaiting the next book.

I loved this book! I just finished the book and was sad to see it end. Cara was a great character and I loved following the dramatic changes in her life and in her daughter's life. I also liked the portrayal of the Amish-it made me understand them better. Cindy is a wonderful author and I could hardly put this book down. Her other series was excellent too!
