Wow! Kristen Heitzmann has written another amazing book, with a cast of characters that will draw you in with each turn of the page. This has a story line that had my heart pounding and me holding my breath for several turns of the pages. The Breath of Dawn is the newest novel written by Kristen and, in my opinion, one that you'll not want to miss.

Quinn Reilly has been living in Juniper Falls ever since she testified against a man who was sentenced to five years in jail. She has a home, a business, and friends, but all of this is being threatened as a result of one phone call in which her sister, Hannah, says "He's getting out and you'll pay for what you did".

Morgan Spencer, is a widower, father, and a corporate turnaround specialist, who is used to fixing other peoples problems. He has been living in Juniper Falls since his wife's death, but he has kept himself so busy with the care of his daughter, Livie, and his work, that he hasn't taken time to grieve.

Morgan's ability to fix things draws Quinn to ask Morgan for help...I won't reveal any more--because I don't want to ruin the story for you; but I will say that if you chose to read this book you will not close it disappointed. Although you may be tired that next day, as it is very hard to put down.

Kristen lists The Breath of Dawn on her website as a stand-alone book. It does include characters from her other books The Still of Night, and A Rush of Wings, but Kristen did well filling the reader in, and the story flowed so amazingly well that I was able to read the story unhindered.

    My review:

I was totally drawn into The Breath of Dawn by Kristen Heitzmann from page one. I could not put it down and read it in one day. As always Kristen has wonderful, fun and heart touching characters that you will love. I really enjoyed watching God do His "work" on the main characters and open their hearts to his healing power.

If you love a good mystery, suspense and a great love story you will love The Breath of Dawn. I don't read spoilers so do not write them. The description from Bethany House will have to do you. Go buy this book. It's a keeper that I will read again.

I would give this book 5+ stars.

I received an ebook copy of this book from Bethany House Publishing for review purposes. I was not paid for this review and always give my honest opinion of each book I review.

Between finishing this book yesterday and writing this review, I had to take a day to recover. While this book would no doubt make an incredible stand-alone novel, I can only review it as a follower to RUSH OF WINGS and STILL OF NIGHT, two other stories I've invested a lot of time and energy into.

Heitzmann brings back Noelle and the Spencer brothers, particularly and especially Morgan, in this riveting, and I mean riveting, story of a man finding a way to live life again. That way comes in the form of a strong and endearing woman, who really rather found him. Quinn may easily be my favorite female character ever of Heitzmann's now, and once again, this story is chock-full of excellent and deep characterization. I can't convince myself they're not real even when I walk away from the book and try.

Heitzmann does an astounding job of drawing us into the pain and heartache of Morgan, the magnetism of his beloved daughter, and the tenderness and hope of Quinn, as they are put in circumstances that no one is fully prepared to handle. Even Morgan's out of his element here, grappling with fear, guilt, change, and risk. To help Quinn with her circumstances, drastic measures are taken without much time to prepare, and their lives will never be the same.

The story starts out hitting us in the hearts, then draws us in as ominous music gets cued by even the first few chapters, and things rapidly begin to unfold. Even as a good book lover, I rarely find a book that's both painful to put down and painful to pick up. This one was. Morgan fans everywhere — come into this with no delusions. It will hurt. But aren't powerful stories supposed to? What I love is that we get to watch his decayed "heart of steel" revive in a real and painful way, then see as he's drawn from his troubles to help someone else, and eventually find healing in that someone else.

One of her greatest books yet, it's definitely more than a play by play of Morgan's revival, as dear admirable Quinn's story is gripping and unexpected. There are definitely multiple layers here as we meet others along the way, whose own stories and troubles weave into Quinn's life and work together to bring about the master piece that is BREATH OF DAWN.

This book has been on my shelf for a while and I chose it yesterday knowing I had some free reading time. What I didn't realize was that I would POWER through this enchanting book.

Apparently this is #3 of a series but that didn't keep me from enjoying this story, and I didn't really feel lost at all. Heitzmann did a great job of providing whatever background the characters needed in a way that didn't feel added in for the sake of the history of the series. The information needed was perfect.

There are so many little subplots in here that kept me turning the pages as quickly as I could read. I absolutely loved it!!

Another great read by Kristen. This can be a stand alone, but it does follow 2 previous books with characters of Morgan and

    Rick Spencer.
