This movie moves you to reflect upon your own life. Whom do you follow and why? How much devotion is in your heart to your God? How far will you go to follow him? The characters were so real and closely folllowed scripture. This is a great movie to share with everyone you know and also a great teaching tool.

The Book of Ruth with Sherry Morris, Carman and Eleese Lester was superbly done and held exactly to the biblical account. I highly recommend this Pure Flix production.

this movie is one of my favorites, one you can watch again and again. very realistic and you can feel Naomi's pain when losing her husband and both her sons, just a real tear-jerker, I always cry at that part, Orpah's disrespect and then heartfelt apology will also have tears streaming down your face, the music was wonderfully done, very dramatic and adding to the intensity of the sorrow Naomi must felt, the movie mostly sticks to the bible( biblically correct) which I appreciate, Boaz was funny and believable, I heard many complaints about makeup/sets and other trivial issues, c'mon people its not like they used downtown New York City as a set, they were reasonably close, stone houses and those long dresses/robes they wore back then, much better than watching harry potter or some other Godless modern day crap, i enjoyed the slow pace of the movie as it built up to the climax later and gradually picked up the action. the kinsman redeemer scene with the tossed sandal may not have been technically accurate ( supposed to hand the sandal to the next of kin) , but it sure was funny!!

i strongly recommend to anyone who wants a great, wholesome movie, that will get the tears flowing and ends up happily ever after, the joy of Boaz when he finds out he is a father is just splendid, very touching indeed and with Obed narrating was really nice touch as he tells David about his ancestors and lineage.

    5 stars , if I could give it 10 i would
