Product Description

Young's classic 3-volume commentary engages in a line-by-line exegesis of the Book of Isaiah, setting interpretation firmly in the context of Isaiah's archaeological, cultural, and intellectual background. Young's conclusions are theologically conservative, and though he believes Isaiah to be a unified, single-author book, he respectfully interacts with opposing views. Includes bibliographies and indexes. Volume 1 covers chapters 1-18; Volume 2 looks at chapters 19-39; Volume 3 surveys chapters 40-66.

Excellent commentary on the Book of Isaiah! Very detailed verse by verse explanation. Young also offers explanations by other authors. I am enjoying this in-depth Bible Study.

Thumbs up for this great tool! I'm accustomed to so many forms of writings, to get insight of Gods Word, but this one is the best, till now. The book of Isaiah is one in which I have many of my promises, that's why I love it so much. Now I get a clearer view of what lies ahead. This book (3 Vol.) is so rich, cause its author mentions also other scholars view. What's great is, that it's just God's word explained, and so deep, that it accomplishes its purpose.

Books provide excellent background information in addition to the conservative exposition of the Bible. Great resource for pastors, Sunday school teachers, or laymen wanting to better understand the teachings of Isaiah.

Good basic commentary, an easy read. However, I was looking for a bit more commentary but not quite as much as in Oswalt's commentary.
