I have enjoyed using some of Wiersbe's individual study books on the books of the Bible and was happy to discover these 6 volumes (at a good price) that contain those studies on all of the Bible books. The volumes are good quality; the pages are not thin but have a good thickness, and the print is not small. Each volume has a similar graphic but different color, with the cover indicating the first and last book covered in each volume. If you like Wiersbe, then this set is a great buy, and it will save you a lot of money from buying each individual study guide.
Wiersbe is a good go-to person for an overall commentary for private or group Bible study. I still think one should consult other commentaries, but Wiersbe is one of my favorites. He clearly holds Scripture in the highest regard and honors Christ in the way he writes.
After decades away from active Bible study, I have been inspired by the compassionate and inspired direction of a wonderful interim pastor here in Castroville, TX. He recommended the Warren W. Wiersbe Commentaries for a study support system. Along with this, I have used the excellent study guides by Paul Blackham available on-line.
I highly recommend both - but Wiesrbe's Commentary seems to track somewhat better with my Life Application Bible, so I have opted to use them and then check back with Paul Blackham's guides to ensure I haven't missed anything.
Again, highly recommend Wiersbe for anyone who is interested in advancing their spiritual and academic knowledge of the Bible and its meaning for individual study.
I use to work for a Christian retailer for several years and was acutely aware of Warren W. Wiersbe and his works, among a plethora of other writer's resources. In my decision to delve deeper into the Bible by way of commentary resource(s), I chose to lay out the equivalent commentary of the particular book of the Bible from the various authors I chose (McGee, MacArthur, Boice, Henry, Wiersbe, Phillips, among more!) and essentially narrowed my preferences down to two authors: J. Vernon McGee and Warren W. Wiersbe, who were the easiest to understand but still get a rich commentary.
Specifically, this product came as described. I'm very satisfied and am sure this will come in handy as an invaluable resource in my library.
