MouserAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5July 29, 2011MouserAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love this book! It has wonderful arrangements, of popular church songs that sound more difficult to play than they are. I give it as a gift to my friends on special occasions, and I love it when I hear them play songs from it. I normally pay more for this book and was very pleased to find it here at Christianbook for this price. Very Satisfied!

Clover5 Stars Out Of 5Great hymns to play.May 5, 2021CloverQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5First time I have played hymns arranged by Victor Labenske. Some are a little different from what I have played before, but fun to play none the less. Enjoyed them!
I have quite a few Alfred's collections for hymns & really enjoy playing them. -
Carli4 Stars Out Of 5Hymns to perform, not sing withAugust 1, 2016CarliQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4The page layout is excellent--couldn't be easier to follow. It includes phrasing, foot pedal marks, and occasional fingering. That, along with the spiral-bound binding, gives it excellent quality and value.
It didn't fully meet my expectations because I thought there would be some hymns appropriate to sing along with. There aren't any. Instead of sticking to the melody, the key suddenly shifts or a musical motif is explored. Therefore, the hymns are only suitable for a musical recital or for church offertories, preludes, postludes, etc.
Still, some arrangements are gorgeous and I love playing them. My favorite is "His Eye is On the Sparrow." -
