Mystery lovers, grab a huge cup of steaming coffee (or tea :)!!) and settle in a comfy, cozy place because you will not want to put this book down until you have turned the last page.

Dani Pettrey has done it again with her new book, "STRANDED", the third book in her Alaskian Courage Series. This is a fabulous mystery with just the right amount of faith, mystery and romance. This book will grab you from the first page and will stay with you long after you have finished it..

Join Darcy St. James and Gage McKenna as they investigate the disappearance of Darcy's friend, Abby, from the cruise ship Bering. Darcy comes on the ship as an "Adventure Journalist" to help Abby with an investigation she was doing. The day Darcy comes on the ship, Abby disappears.

As Darcy gets closer to the truth of what happened to her friend, the closer she brings danger to herself and to those close to her.

Dani's characters and story line are indepth and so awesomely developed that you feel like you are part of the story and all the action going on. You feel and see and experience what her characrs feel see and experience.

I could not turn the pages fast enough in this book to find out what happened next. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series.

Dani, your books are awesome!!!! I will be reading ALL of your books to come.

Many thanks to Dani and Bethany House Publishers for sending me a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and opinion, which I have given. tab :)!!

In her third book in the Alaskan Courage series, Dani Pettrey once again manages to mix together romance, mystery, and danger in an intense, hard-to-put-down package.

Bringing to life once again the McKenna family, Pettrey also brings back Darcy St. James, an investigative reporter, whose love for the Lord has made her step away from a life of deceit to focus on sporting events instead. But when her former partner invites her to handle one last assignment, Darcy finds herself once again heading to Alaska and back into the war path of Gage McKenna.

While the romance between Gage and Darcy seems pretty predictable, it is still a fun read. The one problem I have with the romance part of this story is that Pettrey seems to think it's okay for her characters to get involved with someone who is unsaved simply because they will eventually get saved. I would much prefer to see some of her characters have fallen away from God and then come back to Him through events and people in their lives.

As far as the suspense parts of the book, I did think that some of the parts at the end were a bit rushed. It seems like Darcy could have been in more danger than that and perhaps we could have seen more on the side of the women being traded.

Despite these things, I still found it hard to put this book down, and I look forward to the next book in the series!

Love is in the air, but so is lying, murder, and kidnapping.

Called back to assist an old colleague on a case, Darcy St. James found herself isolated and with few (if any) clues to go on. Her colleague had disappeared just as they were preparing to depart on an Alaskan cruise aboard the cruise ship Bering. She was on her own.

At least that was true until she found that the Excursion Director was an old friend, Gage McKenna. Gage, with assistance from his family's local adventuring business, and the local sheriff, would discover the hints that were needed to get to the bottom of the disgusting behavior that seem to pervade much of what occurred aboard the Bering's voyage along the Alaskan coast.

The book read smoothly, even as it jumped from scene to scene. There were times I did not want to put the book down, even though I had to go to bed in order to ready for the next day. The book served as a reminder that God does not always work at our pace, but He does work at His pace and accomplishes His purposes in His time.

If the book had been a feature film, it would have made the perfect date movie. The mystery, along with the love story(ies?) that paralleled the mystery, will appeal to all readers. I saw no glaring holes in the story or the evidence as it was gathered in the course of this adventure. Though this is book three of a set, I found the story easy to settle into without having read the previous two books. Though this is the end of a trilogy, I hope the author will have the opportunity to contract for another three books in the series.

In Stranded by Dani Pettrey, Darcy St. James returns to Alaska to help her old friend with an undercover investigation aboard a cruise ship - but right after she arrives, her friend goes missing. Darcy goes on a hunt for her friend while struggling to maintain her cover. What she doesn't expect is to run into Gage, the man she almost fell for on her last trip to Alaska.

I liked this book. It was full of adventure and sinister happenings, and I liked the romance woven in as well. The characters were likable, and it was easy to read. The conclusion of the mystery was not something that I was expecting when I started the book. I don't want to say too much so I don't ruin it, but I really liked it.

This is another one of those series where the characters are connected to characters in the other books, and once again it leaves me wanting to go back and read all their stories! It also makes me want to visit Alaska.

I'm looking forward to checkin gout more of Pettrey's books - I love it when I find a new author that I like. I would recommend this book - it's a perfect fall/winter read, because you can read about the cold Alaskan landscapes from the comfort of your cozy living room!

Note: I received this book for free from Bethany House in exchange for this review. This is my honest opinion.

There are some books in a series that you just can't wait for the next one to come out. I have found this true of the Alaskan Courage books by Dani Pettrey. Finishing book three, Stranded, I found myself longing for book 4. There are a lot of loose ends to tie up, so please Dani, write more in this series--they are superb.

The fun things about this series is the family ties and how each book has dealt with different members of the McKenna family and their struggles and victories.

Darcy St James returns to Alaska (she was in book three) to join a journalist friend uncover a big story.. When she arrives, she can't find her friend anywhere and the cruise ship she was on isn't very helpful. She is determined to find her and hires on the cruise ship as a travel reporter and that is where the suspense begins. She enlists the help of Gage McKenna (their story in book three) to help find Abby, but they soon find that there is more to Abby's disappearance that they know, but will soon find out. There is someone after Darcy and will stop at nothing to make sure she and her investigation is stopped.

With all of the books in the Alaskan series, there is adventure, suspense, romance, great characters, finding and trusting God and just a good, interesting read. Dani Pettrey has written Christian fiction that is real and believable with struggling characters that we can all relate to--a sign of a great author.

Thanks to Bethany House Publishers for this free copy just for my honest opinion.
